How often should I rotate PS?

Hi Cathe - I love your PS Series, I've been doing them for my weight work exclusively for about 2 months. I love the slower reps, and find that I can always work to exhaustion. Yesterday for the first time in a LONG time, I put in Cory Everson's Get Hard Arms and Shoulders which features much faster reps with (sometimes) lower weights. My arms were SCREAMING at me! I really needed to lower my weight to a point where I felt ridiculous (5 pounds for a bicep curl?! Aaagh!) because the reps were so fast with no rest. I really love your PS series more than this type of workout, but I know you recommend "surprising" your muscles every once in awhile with different exercises. I guess my question is: How often should I deviate from the PS series? Would switching to MIS occasionally be enough "surprise" for my muscles? I really didn't enjoy Cory's workout that much and I have seen some nice arm development with your tapes.

shocking your muscles

Hi! If you are still getting nice results with the PS tapes you do not need to shock your muscles just yet. I generally save that approach for when I find my muscles slow to respond to my usual weight routine. Yes, you can use MIS as a "shocker". Happy lifting!

Wow! Thanks Cathe!

I have never posted before and I have to say it's quite a thrill to hear from you! I see you four times a week in my workout room, but it's quite a goose to hear from you "live". I love your web site, your tapes, and I can't wait until your new tapes come out. Thanks for your feedback. I think I'll put Cory back on the shelf. That fast lifting just wasn't my bag yesterday. You're a peach!
