How often do you workout?

I am just wondering how much exercise people out there actually do to get and stay in great shape. What kind of workouts, how long and how often during the week?

Thanks!

I do between 5 and 6 per week. I do a split though, I love to do cardio in the AM and my weights in the PM. Cardio gives me that extra boost to start my day, I do not feel strong in the morning though, which is why I lift in the evenings. I have been working out like this forever.

Lately, I pick on of Cathe's, Amy Bento's, Tony Horton or Kimberley Spreen's workouts, or I just hop on the elliptical for 45 minutes in the AM.
PM weight workouts are usually Cathe, but I add P90X workouts as well. I also add another "butt" busting workout on a day I work my lower body. My current fave is "Squeeze". But Cathe's Lower Body Pyramid has a great floorwork booty workout as well.

Usually 6 days, 5 if I need some extra rest. Always in the am -- about 45 minutes of cardio, and about 15 minutes of weights [I do one body part per day]. On ab days, I do that in the evening.

I am a 6 day per week gal.

My work out schedule varies depending upon my rotation and my goals. I just began a rotation y'day that includes 4 days of cardio, a weights 4 day split and 1 yoga work out. I also will aim to do abs 2-3 times per week.

My work outs will average an hour a day for this rotation but have been as short as 20 minutes and as long as 2 hours in the past.

5-6 days 45-70 mins in the morning for weights, cardio,or circuits. at least 3 times a week from 20-60mins of yoga or pilates in the evening. i vary intensity based on how i feel.

6 days a week - any less than that & I gain weight. I do cardio 5 days a week with 1 day being 75 minutes. Some sort of strenght training 5 days a week (counting weights in circuit workouts). I'm not one of those people who can do 3 days of cardio & get away with it.

i do 6 days a week never going over 60 min. i do 3 days of weights (upper, lower, full body) and 3 days of cardio which is whatever i feel like doing that day.

I am one of those that just listens to my body and how I feel. Sometimes (when I am feeling strong), I work out 7 days a week, other times, it's 3-4. There are also times I work out twice a day. I work out really early in the morning and sometimes I just feel like another workout in the evening. It just depends. As for how long, I work out at least 60 minutes but more like 70-90. I try doing at least one day of full-body weights only and cardio most days. It seems that whatever my workout schedule (more or less) it doesn't affect my weight and I don't gain weight when I do less.

I am another one that workouts according to my schedule & how my body feels.... I find that it takes very little to keep me in fighting form IF I eat clean.... Food intake really is the key to a great shape.... I usually workout 1-2 hours a couple of weeks a month.... 1 hour for a week a month and 1/2 hr to 45 minutes 1 week a month. My physical ability is greatly influenced by hormone cycle so I respect that and push when I feel up to it and back off when I dont.

i do 6-7 days per week. 3 days of cardio, 3 days of weights, usually one lower body and two upper. day 7 is a light pilates or yoga/stretch day.

oh, and depending on my rotation my workouts are usually anywhere from 45-75 minutes.

I workout 6 days a week. On Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays I go to a fitness bootcamp. On the weekends I do 2 workouts, weights in the am and cardio in the pm. I usually do a circuit on Thursday and take Tuesdays off.

When I'm in best shape, 5-6 days a week, an hour per workout, split routines for weights usually 3 days, interval cardio one day, kickboxing one day, lighter cardio another day.

Most of the time: 4 days a week, often cardío/weight combo workouts.

I workout between 5 and 6 times per week (my own workouts) approximately one hour per day. To that, I add teaching three days per week two hours for two days and one hour for the third. Of that, two hours are cardio and the other three are weights (a workout simliar to power hour where I don't do the entire workout but pick sections to compliment my own workouts).

ETA - before I was an instructor, I did 5 - 6 days per week at one hour a day.

Remember to listen to your body. If it needs rest, give it rest.

I run Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

I do Cathe workouts Tuesdays and Saturdays.

I go for a bike ride on Saturdays.

I take Thursdays and Sundays off. BUT sometimes I will add Cathe in if I am feeling it.

Good luck all! :)

Hi Christine,

I would love to teach to others! That is my future goal - to get certified.

Right now I am teaching Kids Yoga and I love it! :)

Have fun!

I love teaching! I have a full time profession but I still get so much joy from teaching at the gym. I love helping others to get fit and knowing that I am now fit enough to do it (b/c I wasn't always, believe me!)!!! Plus, I LOVE it the most when they give me the dirty looks that I give Cathe daily b/c I know that I am making them work!

I taught a kid's fitness class in the Spring and I LOVED it. I like my regular adult students but that was beyond FUN!

Thanks Christine!

I am going to go for it.

I am an elementary school teacher, and during the summers I teach at the summer program (and I chose to teach Yoga and the kids LOVE IT!).

I am working with grade 2 students, and they love the Yoga.
I can't wait to work with adults someday on their fitness goals!

Thanks again!

:)
