how my first half marathon went....

It went fantastic, I ran 14.2 Miles in 2 hours 16 minutes and 43 seconds, I know I know.... I am a slow poke, but I never stopped at all, I was carrying my water so I didnt need to stop for it, the highlight of my run was to see, my son Berto filming me at the start line, then he went ahead and filmed some more in the middle of the way, and then 3 of my kids were at the finish line, and one of my best friends was cheering me up in her bike, so, did I have support? I bet I did, and that was the key of being motivated the whole run and never stopped at all, I never felt the bonk and never got tired, wohoooo!!!! it was a great experience.

I remember my first "halfie"...still have no plans to run a marathon as I know how incredibly challenging just a half marathon is. Congratulations from someone who knows!

I remember how much internal dialogue I had with myself...sometimes planning how I would allow myself to drop out and at the same time being focused and disciplined. During the run I thought "I'll never do this again". Yet when I saw my greatest supporters at the finish...I was planning on my next half marathon. (5 in total so far).

You should be so proud of your personal accomplishment.

Congratulations Norma! I bet your family is very proud of you. Better yet, I bet you are very proud of yourself!

Wonderful job, Norma! I'm so impressed with all you long distance runners. I never got over 5 miles and I thought I was tuff stuff. Now 2 miles makes me feel like I've been on the rack.
