How many kms are in a mile?

Is it 1.7 kms in a mile? I usually run outside and I run 14 kms.Last night I was on the treadmill and I pushed myself to do 10 miles.I know that is longer then 14 kms but I am wondering how far I have actually went.It was a great run but I won't be doing it again tomorrow!

Thanks, its 16.9 kms...I think I have ran further.I guess I have just never seen it in mile form before.
