How many interval workouts per week?

Hi,

I was just wondering how many interval workouts you all do per week? Do you do all Cathe (Imaxes?)or something else too? Do you do cardio workouts with blasts (MIC, Step Blast) on top of that?

Lots of questions there..., I'm just trying to hit a good balance between cardio, interval wo:s and weight training to get back in shape after having a baby (7 weeks old by now, and I can finally hit all the hardest workouts without too many modifications, YESSS!!). I really do find that the interval workouts make a difference, so I'm really curious to find out what experiences you all have had.

Also, I browsed through this book on interval training that suggested doing 2 IT -workouts, 1 Extra Long -cardio workout and 1-2 easier cardio workouts per week. (Of course, this only dealt with cardio). The XL-cardio session was supposed to be double your regular cardio session... Anyway, any comments? Anybody try something like that?

Waiting to hear your thoughts,

Maria S

I personally do 3-4 but they are only 20 min in duration and then I do 20 min of kickboxing.I do only the blasts on I max1 and 2,I also have intense moves, cia bootcamp&stretch, cia raw, mindy mylrea's boot camp, cia slammin sports cardio (drills),energy action circuit, mindy m awesome intervals and of course cathe bootcamp cardio only.I really haven't done the imax's for awhile I really love sports orienated workouts. When I did body for life I got great results doing intense cardio training 3x a week I mostly ran sprints. If I were doing longer intervels I probaly would only do 2 a week.I don't double sessions unless I do a 20min workout in morn and longer one in even.I don't know where mic fits in it really is just intense through the whole tape so I would put it in the same class as firm cardio burn and supercardio-high impact and great workout but really no rest to recover.Good luck and congrats on new baby.

I do 4 cardios a week and do two of them with intervals. Depending on the weather, I do a hilly 5 mile run, or 12 miles on my stationary bike while watching Boot Camp allbutcore premix and doing intervals when Cathe does cardio. Otherwise, I do Imaxes, Gin Miller's Intense Moves, or CircuitMax.
The other two of my cardios are steady state workouts, one easy and one tougher.
