How Many Days A Week Do you Work Out?

and how many days SHOULD one work out?

I do Cathe workouts 3 days a week and tennis 3 days a week (I'm a tennis playing fiend!). I often wonder if this is too much though. I feel horrible if I can't work out at least 4 times a week! I guess I've turned into a junkie! Ha!

So what about everybody else? Do you mainly do Cathe workouts, or do you mix it up with other kinds of exercise too? Just wondering...Thanks!

I work out to Cathe 5 times a week.

I take 2 days off to rest!

:)

I am too addicted!

I aim to work out 5-6 days a week, but usually I manage only 4. Sometimes I get home from work and I am too tired or I have to go out during the week straight after work. I should motivate myself on the days when I do stay in to do something, I think that doing Pilates or stretching will be idea for those days. I need to order more workouts.

As for what I do, it's always a home workout. I think I spend too much money on the DVDs and equipment that I don't want to spend more joining clubs or gyms. It's a pity as sometimes I would like company, but that's the way it goes.

I aim to do 5-6 workouts but generally do 5 workouts 100% Cathe. I've purchased other instructors and found them disappointing, so I've decided to stick with Cathe.

I want to incorporate some more flexibility / stretching workouts to balance out the weights and cardio. My exercise is my hobby and I really love it. The gym just doesn't do it for me. I've nearly collected all of Cathes ( with the exception of Cross Train Xpress, which I want next) and she is just the best.

I work out 3-4 times a week and average 10 hours per week. It generally works out to 2-3 hours per day. I am so tired during the work week that I normally work out 3 hours both Saturday and Sunday and 2 hours per day twice during the work week.

BUT....I have done this for years and have found as I enter my mid-thirties consistent diet is more significant than exercise. I have literally gained a good 5 pounds in the last year with nothing else changed. Diet is the MOST important part of the weight maintenance/ lost equation in my opinion.

I work out 5-6 days a week, mostly Cathe now but also some Jari Love, Amy Bento, and Kimberly Spreen. I also occasionally jog or do some Pilates videos.

Diet and exercise do go hand and hand, though it might depend on body type and that sort of thing. Lately I've lost more weight through exercise in spite of imperfect eating habits--not that I'm awful, but I cheat on what I eat but I don't cheat my workouts!

I workout 6 days per week anywhere from 1 to 2 hours.

I do mostly Cathe videos. I throw in an additional video from another instructor.

I never work out when I travel. I give my body a break and when I return I am always stronger.

I work out 6 days a week most of the time.

I have tons of Cathe work outs and love her but have been on a kick with other instructors lately. I'm havin' fun mixing it up!:) I also run, do yoga, and take a spin class at my gym every week.

I workout 6 days a week. I go to a fitness bootcamp 3 days a week and either do Cathe workouts or go running and/or running bleachers. I also do some workouts by Mindy Mylrea. It just depends what we did at bootcamp.

6 days a week. I do mostly Cathe strength training and some step and kickboxing. I also do cardio coach on the treadmill and I throw in some P90X for good measure.

I work out 5 days a week. It should be 6, but when Saturday rolls around, I just want to relax.

I mainly do Cathe workouts, but I also have others. I love them all.

One day DH and I were talking, He seemed surprised when I told him that I worked out 5 days a week.

Okay, I'm a junkie and I don't care who knows it...I very rarely take a true rest day so I my answer is 7 days a week. I don't go full tilt every day a 'rest' day for me would be something like the step section of SJP and then yoga. I know that theoretically I should be taking a rest day but I'm not all about results, I exercise for stress and mood management as well as my obligatory endorphin fix}( Works for me!:7

Laurie - I'm 7 days a week as well. I don't schedule rest days, though sometimes they happen. I do 3 or 4 days of running, 3 days of weights (or two weights and 1 circuit) and if I run 3 days, then I do Cathe cardio on the fourth.

I workout 5 days (M-F) and spend the weekends with my very active family.

I'm doing an all Cathe rotation right now.

I think a person should do as many workouts as they can without over-training. 5 is the magic number for me.
