How High To Mount a Pull Up Bar

Hello!

I received my new shiny and cushy pull up bar today. It did not come with directions and I need to know how high up the door frame the bar should be mounted. I realize high enough to pull myself off the ground (not at waist level, big time cheating! ). I am 5'6" and I don't want to mount it too far up the door frame because mine is screwed into the frame. Where have you guys mounted them?

High enough so you or your family don't hit their head on it......

High enough that you can hang without touching the floor, maybe 2" clearance between your feet and the floor.

That way you don't have to concentrate on bending your knees.

I have to recommend this bar: http://www.pullupbar.com/ . It's expensive, but worth it. Fits easily into any doorway with minimal assembly. Really sturdy. Allows different grips. I use mine a lot.

You will love it, just keep at it. You can use JumpStretch bands to provide assistance when doing pull ups. You may need to use them for a while until you build up your strength.
