How fast kids notice things

My 9 yr old called out from her room yesterday and said "mom quick come here" I thought there was something on t.v that she was going to ask for for christmas and when I walked in she said "oh you missed it" Then she said " Hillary Duff was on t.v and her face looks awful...is she on a diet or something"? Then when I said, I didn't know, she went on to say how bad she looked.
I was happy that she argreed that she looked awful instead of wanting to be like her.These girls don't set much of an example of our girls, thats for sure.
I can remember when I thought D.J on Fullhouse looked great, I wanted to be just like her.Now looking back she wasn't skinny but healthy.How times have changed.

That is so funny that you mentioned this because I was thinking the same thing today. My daughters and I were listening the Hilary Duff and Lindsey Lohan cds today while I was cleaning house and I was thinking how much I use tho like them because they were normal looking girls. They were normal weight and I thought they were good role models for girls. Not anymore they went all Hollywood on us and lost too much weight Hilary even got fake teeth and she said it was because her teeth started falling out-yeah right she looks weird now.
My daughters are also fans of Raven hopefully she wont go there too.
As for D.J I wanted her hair soooooo bad, tried to do it everyday.

i expected better from hillary b/c i though she wasn't all about the perfection bull but i guess hollywood gets the best of them. she looked great before in one video i saw a bicep muscle now i see another manufactured designer clothes wearing teen movie queen.

In my eyes she sort of looks like a horse.Im not trying to be mean but she as things long face and these big new teeth.

As for D.J...imagine me growing up!:) I had super curly hair that I was trying to grow out so D.J was everything that I wanted to be.I wanted hair like hers, it wasn't even funny...hahaha.Not to mention the cool clothes.Now Kimmy Gibbler...she was a different story, hahaha:)

Must be alotof pressure living that kind of life though.

I think Lindsey as made a turn around hasn't she? I saw something in a magazine the other day,saying that she is gaining weight and she looks better.I thin she even admitted to not taking care of herself over the last year.I must have been waiting to get groceries checked in or something cause its not a magazine I would buy.
The always blame it on "turning into a women" I know lots of girls who turned into women and they never slimmed out like that.

Yeah I thought she was fine before, she had a nice body. Its so hard having girls because they look at girls like that and think that is what you have to look like to be pretty. I went through the same thing when I was about 15 years old I would look at the fashion magazines and want to look like that. Then when I was about 20 I figured out that it was impossibe.

I used to think Lindsay Lohan was a great role-model for girls: not super skinny, but healthy looking. Then she got skinny and blond (NOT flattering on her!).
