how does this look?

okay so i wanted to incorporate both full body and upper/lower workouts along with cardio and have come up with this. let me know what you think:
monday: full body (ME, MM, DM, BC, PH, etc.)
tuesday: cardio (IMAX2, Cardio fusion, or 45 min ellipical)
wednesday: full body (different from monday's workout
thursday: cardio (different from tuesday)
friday: lower body (PLB, B&G, L&G, GSL, etc.)
saturday: upper body (PUB or my concoction of combined workout with 20-30 min interval cardio on the treadmill)
I have so many videos that i want to get as much in during a rotation as possible. Thanks

Or...............
monday: upper body with 20 min interval cardio
tuesday: lower body
wednesday: cardio for 60 min
thursday: upper body
friday:lower body for 30 min
saturday: 60 min cardio

i'm just trying to maintain and switch up my workout schedule. do either of these ones look better?

I prefer more recovery time per body part than your first rotation allows, but it still looks fun and do able, both do. Just if I did the first one, I'd go lighter on wts than I would if I was just doing each body part once a week, which is what i tend to do.

mabe i will do the second one then. i noticed with the first i will be working each muscle group 3 times a week which may lead to overtraining. do any of you know if the PH cd with the 3 workouts allows you to just do upper or lower from the full body routines like PP and ss does? i just ordered them and i should be getting them next week.

For what its worth, I like your second option better.
The PH cd, doesn't come with any premixes (so no upper body premix), but it does come with the chapters, or mix and match. So you can create your own.

Either one looks good, depending on whether you prefer the full body workouts or the split. I've been doing the following for quite a while, and I like the results - keep in mind that my day off is during the week instead of the weekend:

Monday - cardio
Tuesday - Upper body
Wednesday - lower body
Thursday - Off
Friday - cardio
Saturday - full body or circuit, on alternating weeks
Sunday - cardio

It gives me more options for longer cardio, which I like.

this is what i have been doing and was just looking for a change. i've had great success with this as well. a lot of responses on other forums i have written is if it's not broke don't fix it but i'm just looking for a change. I'm not a fan of pairing up weights and cardio on the same day so mabe i will just stick with my old routine and when my new dvd's come in (PH series) that will revive my workout.

so i have been searching this forum for all different kinds of splits. the funny thing is i have NEVER tried a regular training split as is (GS or PS) for example. I have this mentality that only working one group of muscles once a week is not enough. (crazy i know) this is why i have ALWAYS done upper/lower body splits or full body routines. i'm not sure if i can break this and completely change my workout to that. I guess its the same thing with people who do cardio all the time and have a hard time cutting back (i was one of those too;-) )

ok, this is my final post on this topic (sorry). I have decided that i'm going to keep my routine as is but switch up the exercises by doing some of the premixes and stuff. I really enjoy this set up b/c it combines a split with 1 total body workout so i feel like you get the best of both worlds.
monday:upper
tuesday: cardio
wednesday: lower
thrusday: cardio
friday: full body
saturday: cardio
thank you all for your suggestions. i think this is the best split for me and for the time i have to workout. thanks again.

Karie - one thing I recently did was to put a specific kind of cardio on each cardio day -

Mondays are Imax or other intense workout, like Cardio Fusion
Fridays are pure step (or a steady ellliptical workout, if I need a break from the impact)
Sundays are low impact or kickboxing

It kind of gives each day a special focus, and something to look foward to.

And you're right. Using the premixes really opens up a whole new world. Have fun!

ok, so i decided to do the upper/lower split. yeah i know, i can't make up my mind.:D today i did just the upper body part of SS. i did the 3 set premix. it kicked my butt. i then did 20 min of intervals on the treadmill: 2 min @ 6mph with 1 min @ 9mph. i repeated this 6 times. i am very intrigued about the whole one body part per day theory. like i posted on in another topic, i don't know what i'm afraid of trying different programs. its not like i'm going to gain weight in 4 weeks of trying something new. for those that do one part per day what is your rotation like (weights and cardio). i'm still a little confused about working legs just once a week. but i guess if you are doing step and intervals, your legs are getting a workout during your cardio sessions right? it seems that such a large muscle group would need to be worked at least twice per week. sorry for beating this topic into the ground. i'm learning a lot from all of you:p
