How do i put my picture on this site?

I would like to put my pic on this site (the small, box like pic that you see when someone posts a message) so you all know who you're talking too, but i have no idea how to do it. Can anyone help me? Thank you x
 
Sure, Wayne. You need to start by having a pic of yourself on your computer from a digital camera or a CD. Once you have that, you need to open an account at picturetrail.com, which is free. Picturetrail provides instructions on its website for putting your pics into albums on its website. Once you've done that, picturetrail provides you with instructions for copying the location of the picture. Then you go into the "profile" section of these forums and copy the location in the section marked "avatar". If you have any specific problems with picturetrail, let me know. It's not that easy to navigate, but I've done it successfully several times in the past.

Editing to say I think everyone should have an avatar, preferably with a picture of themselves, because it makes it so much easier to differentiate people on these forums. So do it! :D
 
Finally!!! Thanks Nancy for the tip about picturetrail. I've been using Shutterly.com and could not post any pictures to this site. I tried picturetrail.com and it worked! :)

I don't think i will ever get around to doing this I am afraid, and I have zero computer know-how. Continue to imagine those of us without pictures as your imagination sees fit. But, to help you, I am not a dwarf, no gross carbuncles on my nose, and my hair is not dyed bright orange...... Imagine sylph -like woodland goddess.......;-)

Okay, I just looked at picturetrail, and after you have an album, you go to "more options" and then choose "URLs For Auctions and Posting to Other Sites". I really hope everyone gets an avatar! C'mon guys! And this means you too Clare! :D

Another easy way is to open your pic in your picturetrail album, right click on the open picture, and then go down to Properties. Click on Properties and copy the URL address there and paste it into your Cathe profile Avatar. :)
 
The Problem with Picturetrail....

is that it's only free for one month and then it's 20 bucks a year to keep your account. Basically that would mean I have to pay 20 dollars to have a picture on this site. It's not worth it to me when there are great free sites like Webshots where you can also post albums and have access to perhaps millions of professional photos as well as amateur photos. They also have a free screensaver software package into which you can load any pics you like.
The one problem is that Webshots does not allow "sharing" from their site so I cannot post a pic here that originates from there.
I have 10 albums on there and have shared these many times with people here by inviting them via email.
Anyway, give Webshots a looksee.
