How do I put a photo in a post?

Kathryn, I think it's just by entering the http link followed by /img with brackets around the /img...does that make sense?

Or, the http link follwed by .gif Here is a link which I put spaces between just so it wouldn't post as a pic...

It's my photo, on my computer

Unless it's hosted somewhere, on a site like Picturetrail or Photobucket, you can't post it here. You can't post a picture that's just on your hard drive.

Shell-Belle! You are right...sorry, I was thinking ICONS more then photos I guess. Thanks for clearing that up!

Shelley's right, you need to host the photo somewhere online like picturetrail or photobucket. I like Photobucket better because it gives you the link you need to copy into your post, you don't have to go right-clicking around for it.

And you do NOT need to use IMG tags. The forum software automatically recognizes image files and displays the links as pictures without needing IMG tags. If you use IMG tags, you'll get little empty boxes before and after your picture. :)

What Emily said! ;)

Liann got me onto photobucket and now I'm a picture posting fool!

That's the key to it all - the photo needs to be online somewhere.

Thanks Debbie! Now I know how I get smillies on here!
