How do I get my whites whiter???

I purchased one of those new front loading washers and I like the fact that it uses less water and can handle more clothes, but I can't seem to get my whites really clean anymore. The old top loader definitely got my whites whiter. So, what am I doing wrong? Do you think that it is the HE (high efficiency) soap? I just buy the store brand soap. I think maybe I'll buy a different brand and see how that goes. Anyone else have this problem or have any suggestions?

I use Tide HE and don't have any problems - good luck!

I use Tide HE along with some Oxymagic & that combo works well.

Angie - I've heard good things about Tide HE, BUT if you have a septic system you should not use Tide. I have septic which is why I opted for the front loader and lower water usage too. I use Cheer and OxyClean. It does help, but my whites still are not as white as I would like. (I just think that's the price I pay for country living.)

Lorrie, Why shouldn't you use tide if you have a septic system? I have a septic system and I use it. Arrgggh, am I doomed??
