How complex are the Hardcore cardio workouts and Intensity series?

Hi, I'm interested in purchasing these sets but I'm worried about the complex choreography. I'm an intermediate-low advanced exerciser and my cardio is usually kickboxing, hi-lo, treadmill, spinning and elliptical machine. I'm not really an expert in step so I can only do basic choreography like Gin Miller, The Firm, KV Energy Sprint etc. However, I do have Cathe's Wedding Workout, MIC, CTX, IM and I could get the moves down pretty well (except All Step which perplexes me to this day, I could get some moves down but the other moves leave me in the dark).
So, do you think I should get the Hardcore and Intensity series? Are they really complex? Collage rated the cardio as complex especially for IM2/C&W, IM3, and Low Max. The video clips really look so fun so do you think I can get all the steps? Thanks for any advice and suggestions!

I can't grasp allstep to save my life either! LOL Yet I can do low max and c & w w/o much of a problem at all...I have only tried a bit of IMAX 2 one time so I can't fairly give an opinnion on that one yet.

I think that if you can get most of the choreography from MIC, CTX, and Imax1 then you should have no trouble picking up the stuff from the Intensity series or the Hardcore. You'll probably have to watch each routine several times, practice a few of the trickier portions in slow motion, and be a little patient, but if you're that familiar with Cathe step already then you can definitely do it. And you're right, they are both SO fun!! Go for it!
Good luck!

If you got the moves in CTX (I make up my own moves for the first part of All Step, so don't feel bad if you can't get that) and the original IMAX, I don't see why you can't get the choreography of Cathe's newer workouts. Among the four you mentioned, it's IMAX3 that's the most challenging for me, with all the turns and pivots. I learned the workout by previewing it first, then doing the step only premix for a while, then the first 5 intervals, then intervals 6-10. Then I came up with my own modifications to moves I'm uncomfortable with. I'm still "practicing" a lot. There's always a learning curve to Cathe's choreography, and it pays to break down the more challenging footwork, but once you get it, it's fun and fulfilling.:)

I think you will really like these. I don't have Imax3, but I have Lowmax, Coremax, Muscle Max, Cardio & Weights/Imax2 and really like all of them. I'd say I'm probably average in picking up choreography but didn't have any trouble with these. I say go for it!

Enjoy!

I find that the first couple times doing a new Cathe tape is kind of awkward. She's going left, I'm going right, she's on the step, I'm on the floor, etc. After those first couple times, though, it comes together quickly. My attitude is that even though I may not be exactly with her all the time, I'm still getting a decent workout. It might not be pretty, but it's a workout nonetheless LOL. The challenge of getting the moves down is part of the fun for me. Besides, time really flies when you're concentrating so hard. You certainly don't get bored.

I never did step before trying Cathe, so you shouldn't have a problem with it since you already have experience with other instructors. Cathe suggests that you view the tape all the way through before trying it. That helps a lot too. HTH.

Okay, this made me laugh VERY out loud! That's so me. I think I'm doing all right and then I turn around and she's at completely the opposite end to me, or she's up on the step and I'm on the floor! But it all comes eventually. You just have to have a little patience and it's SO worth it because it's so much fun!

I'll just chime in and say that of all the workouts, I'm still an Intensity Series fan. I love the new Hardcores and many of the other workouts, but for me the Intensity Series is just plain fun -- and a kick-your-butt good workout. I think you'll find the footwork on this series do-able -- after a few previews...
