How Awesome is Kick, Punch, Crunch?

Okay, I'm really late to the party on this one. I never got it back in 2012 when I started working out at home because: 1) at the time, I thought all my kickboxing had to be TaeBo and 2) I didn't have a stability ball for the abs portion.

Anyway, since then, I've branched out to Ilaria's Powerstrikes (Love! :D) and Heather Corndorf's Kickbox Burn. Tried Susan Chung, but didn't click with her. The point is that I became more willing to branch out in terms of kickboxing. I decided to order Rock'm Sock'm, but added KPC to my order since it got such rave reviews. Plus, I took another look at the clips and realized it did look fun and that I could modify the abs easily (still don't have a stability ball).

I did KPC this morning and what a fun workout! Now I see why there is so much fuss about this one. I thought the combos were well done and a good mix of kicking and punching.

Does anyone still do this one on a regular basis?

I also love KPC!! I happen to love kickboxing so it was a no brainier to get this one. Do you have Rock out Knockout? Or Kickmax? There's nothing like punching and kicking to get the frustrations out right? At least for me anyway. Sorry you didn't like Susan Chung. I have all 4 of her workouts and find them challenging and fun. Heather Corndorf with Patrick Goudeau....LOVE LOVE LOVE that one!! What sets Cathe apart is how she makes everything enjoyable. Love it!

You may also want to check out Cathe's Hardstrikes from XTRAIN series. Love that one too. I love all of Cathe's kickboxing/boxing dvds. She also has 3 different ones in the STS Cardio Shock series, they are boxing, kickboxing, & fusion. I do mostly kickboxing/boxing because it's so much fun and versatile. Or you can get Cathe's On Demand and have access to all of these plus all of her live kickboxing classes which I too love.

I too love cathe's kickboxing/boxing stuff. One of the segment which does not get mentioned is an 1/2 hour segment.
from 4DS. Here below is the clip.

I'm going to have to try this. I have this DVD but have never used it. Did KPC Monday for the first time ever and loved it. I did one of the shorter premixes as I was crunched for time, but it was still a great workout. Definitely going to be a repeater for me. Thanks for sharing the clip. I'll be pulling it out one morning for my allotted 30 min in the morning.

I really love KPC and it still remains my favorite, but Cathe's kickboxing workout
in Cathe Live (IIRC, it's titled High Energy Kickboxing) is amazing!!! Super Fun! I
have to do Rock'Em Sock'Em again to compare to that one, but I found RESE
fun too! I especially love the Blizzard Blast....my fav blizzard blast!

I'm trying Rock'm Sock'm tomorrow morning, so I will be able to compare it with KPC.

Speaking of Cathe Live (this should probably be in another section of the forum), I'm assuming I can't play Cathe Live through an Amazon Fire TV stick?

Nathalie, thanks for posting the clip of the kickboxing in 4DS. I didn't know about that. That's something else I will have to consider.

I definitely liked KPC better. Unfortunately, I didn't get up in time to add the blizzard blast, but I will next time.

I think I would have liked some more kicking and maybe a few kick+punch combos. There were some side kicks in the warm-up, but they weren't really used in the main routine. That would have added some more variety.

I will say that I really liked how much work my core got in this workout.

That said, if I just use Rock'm Sock'm as a means to getting in a more intermediate workout to vary my intensity during the week and not look at it as a means to getting a real kickboxing workout in, then I can see getting some good out of Rock'm Sock'm.

t wanted to come back and thank you for the tip on this little gem of a workout. I did it this morning and am so glad I tried it. 30 minutes and it hits every spot. This one was better than KPC IMO. Enjoyed it a lot and got in a great workout.

Not to hijack my own thread, I really like the look of all of the cardio workouts on 4DS. Taking out the weights portions, how long are the cardio portions?
