Housecleaning

Doesn't it feel SOOOOOOOO good to have a clean house?:)

I was away two weekends in a row and needless to say, my SO did the bare minimum. I think he may have cleaned toilets. Maybe.

So I've been a crazy woman. I've dusted all three floors of my house, vacuumed, cleaned both bathrooms, washed the kitchen floor. I'm washing all the mats, and the bedding, including comforters. I did a massive clean-up of DD's room (when I installed her new desk and cabinets, little did I know that all her stuff would just get more spread out!). Everything looks and smells great and it makes me so much more zen-like to know my house is clean.

Oops. Sorry for the book. I just wanted to share my joy;)

I am happy for you, I love cleanning too, I think is zen to have your house clean, I am in a trance when I do toilets, I am in the moment, in the present when I swosh swosh with the brush and my toilet is tidy!!!!:7

Since I own a housecleaning biz and deal with this topic all week I hate to do my own on the weekend sometimes. I do love it though when it is all spotless and shiny! I hate doing it but love when it is done. I can really relax then! I have before hired one of my own employees to clean it but then I feel lazy for having done that:(

So anyway Shelley what time can you be over to do mine? :)

I also love a clean house, but I hate cleaning. I just cannot get into it. Never have. I'm actually thinking of hiring Merry Maids to come in and clean every other week. I try to set aside time to clean, but it never happens. I love doing laundry, don't know why, and the dishes, but I hate dusting, vacuuming, mopping, etc.

Shelley, be proud!!! I don't mind cleaning, but some how always find more interesing things to do. Since DH doesn't allow dogs in the house, I keep a few pet spiders (mostly in DD's bedroom & bath:D ) and some very large dust bunny families... Congrats & let me know when you will be in VA - I can give you lots to feel good about;-)

LOL Terri, Kelley, and Sue...I'm right there with ya...I love the clean house but hate doing the cleaning...too many "distractions"! Shelley...if you ever come to St. Louis...even more for you to feel good about! :)

LOL - I'm not sure I'd get the same satisfaction cleaning someone else's house;)

I just finished mowing the lawn though:D

Now I'm off to do ME!

Me, too!
I marvel that there is a picture of me at about 7 years old, standing on a stool doing dishes (and I look like I enjoy it!).

In order to do much cleaning at all, I find I need to put on some really LOUD, really ROCKIN' music to get myself through (1980's disco works nicely! As does house music and some workout CD's.

Right now, I'm avoiding my "cleaning day" by coming in the office and working on a class manual I'm preparing for a French song class I'm teaching this fall.

I wish I could keep up with the housecleaning! Last summer I wasn't working and my house looked SOOOOO good. The kids kept saying they were afraid to stand still too long, just in case I started dusting them...LOL!

Good for you Shelley...and WOW! you are having an action packed day!

I love cleaning and love having a clean, organized house......

I hate watching everyone march through the house completely undoing my work in 10 minutes flat...oh well Marnie

Working from home doesn't help me at all either. If given a choice between cleaning and working, I choose work any day, which I'm fixing to do right now. It is so easy for me to put off housecleaning, when I know I can sit at my computer and make a few bucks.

I forgot to mention above that I do love mowing the yard. I'm not much for gardening, though. I have never had a green thumb, but I've managed to keep 4 plants alive for a year now which is a record for me. It may be because these plants came from my dad's funeral, so I have a reason to keep them alive. I'm not sure.

I love to see and smell my house all clean. I probably do more cleaning than I should. I clean my bathroom at least three times a week. But I clean the toilet everyday. Yes I know that is weird, but I am funny over that. I also wash two loads a clothes every day. Between the kids clothes and the towels we use. I vacuum every other day because of the dark carpet. It shows up all the lent! I really need a maid though. Yeah right!

I probably won't get to do as much cleaning when I start to work at the end of aug. Oh! those plugins smell sooooo great! I can put one in the bathroom and it will go all over the house.

Well I have babbled enough, I guess I am a cleaning fanatic.

Please include the danse des canards. C'est ma favorite!!

(Okay, I'll stop with the horrible francais now. I took the stupid language for 8 years and still can't do it right. I won't be able to until I go to France, which I won't be able to do for a few years- but it's my first post-bar-exam-now-I'm-a-real-attorney vacation!)

Oh yeah sorry to have gotten sidetracked. I HATE to clean house. My DH ends up doing a lot of it, and I feel bad. That's what I'm supposed to be doing right now- cleaning. I love to clean the bathroom, HATE the rest of the house and kitchen.

So if there are any volunteers, come on over!! ;)

I love a clean house as well but am one of those who doesn't like to clean....Since I have been home I have taken to doing a little cleaning every day. It makes the chore more bearable. I will vacuum one day, dust the next, etc...

OMG! I was in Europe the year that song was popular. I got SO tired of hearing it: in France, Germany, Spain, everywhere!

Quelle horreur!

Nope, not on my course list!!;-) Jamais!

Me too Kathryn! I also love Motown. I can clean anything as long as the Supremes are on.

Actually, now that I can finally afford to have someone else clean for me, I've learned that the cleaning wasn't the hardest part. The hardest part I still have to do myself: unclutter. Create organization. Decide what stays and what goes. Unfortunately, there is no one you can pay to do this for you. Cleaning the toilet was no big deal. Creating a filing system and keeping your desk clear and uncluttered: priceless. :-(

TY Nancy! Joey is doing wonderfully! He's such a doll! Quite the eater! He complains when we have to take the bottle out of his mouth to burp him! lol :D
