:D

Okey dokey, thought I'd bring the whole sci-fi chat into its own thread. Gushing allowed and encouraged.

Maeghan, my favorite is DS9, followed closely by TNG. I know people thought DS9 was waaaaay too slow, which it was first season, but once the Defiant showed up and the war started, things really took off, IMHO. Are you into Classic Trek at all?

That BSG promo just made me want more, NOW. I love that there are no repeats in the season but frak, 7 months is a long time to wait!!!

How about if I just give a little beep, because I do love Cathe, but just tolerate Sci-fi. I'm a little more excited about fantasy. But not a whole lot more. The Dragonrider series is one of my favorites. A co-worker who loves Sci-fi used to lend me books that weren't too wierd and I will admit I was entertained.

BEEP BEEP!

I love Star Trek. TNG was probably my favorite but I'm a huge fan of the original series and the Trouble with Tribbles was probably my favorite episode.

I loved DS9, too, and was sorry when they cancelled it.

I've never seen BSG but maybe I'll have to tune in.

We own most of the Star Trek movies. The ones with the original cast are the best, IMO, and The Wrath of Khan is one of my favorite movies of all time.

Oh! How about The Twilight Zone? Does TZ count? I LOVE the TZ and never miss the New Years marathon!

I don't love Star TREK but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Star Wars, the original series (of course). Was there ever a sexier and less gushy man than Han Solo? :) :) :)

I absolutely loved the original Star Trek series... watched it in reruns all the time. Can you do the "live long and prosper" hand sign????

Now on sci-fi, I've started to get addicted to that "Ghost Hunters" show... you know, the TAPS guys (Trans-Atlantic Paranormal Society). They're plumbers by day... and on the hunt for the paranormal at night!

Maybe I shuold start a Law & Order/Cathe junky thread. LOL!
(Can't say I know much about SciFi but Dr. Who was pretty hilarious!) }(

Yes Sparrow I do like the original stuff too. I used to watch it on the black and white 13in tv I had in my room as a kid. I used to watch TNG with my gram. Do I sound like a nerd?? Good!!
I like DS9 too. What about Babylon 5??
I just love Whoopi in TNG. I know he is much older then moi, but Capt Picard is so handsome!
My 4 year old Chase loves how Jordi is the same as the Reading Rainbow guy, as he says it!!

Yeah, Hans Solo is pretty much the sci-fi guy gold standard! I used to carry a trading card with his picture on it in my pocket. And no, this wasn't last week. :p I was like, 8.

Robin, fantasy counts, and if we were to phaser you we'd have them set on "stun" not "kill." Then we'd go through your pockets and steal your wallet while you were passed out :p

Michele, LOVE Wrath of Khan! What a great flick. If you like DS9 you will like BSG, I think. It's smart and sexy and grown-up and brutal and funny. When most people hear "BSG" they thing of the campy series with Dirk Benedict and Lorne Green in tight 70s space suits but this is totally modern and updated. The cast is fantastic, headed by Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell. Worth a rental, at a any rate.

Maeghan, I liked Voyager for most of its run but did not get into Enterprise at all, though my sis loved it. I actually was never a B5 fan. That and Stargate I've never been able to get into to. Did love Farscape though, and Firefly. My niece and nephew love Q. They want to be able to control the universe like that...:D

ETA: I love the fact that both DS9 and TNG ended before they became jokes. There's nothing more awful (TV speaking) than watching a great show die a slow and ugly death.
X-Files comes to mind.

I haven't watched Star Trek in years (Enterprise turned me off),

but recently caught TNG on cable during a vacation and realized I'll forever have a crush on Worf!

Honk!

I love Battlestar Gallactica and I am a sucker for almost all sci-fi movies. I really like the X-men series too. It sucks that BSG is coming on in October right when 2nd year med school gets to be the toughest! Oh well, it will be on Friday nights!

beep...love Cathe and live with Sci-Fi. HONK for my 25 yo and 11 yo DSs who have read, seen everything Star Trek and don't hesistate to share it with me and the world.:)

Oh yes, me too! I love everything sci-fi...I think I've watched (and enjoyed everything people have listed so far). All the Star Treks & spin offs (TV and movies), Star Wars, I like the X-men too. I can't wait to see BSG again, I've missed it!

Did you ever see Firefly? It was really good! I've been trying to watch Kyle XY and Eureka because I miss watching a scifi series. Anyone watch anything good recently?

I forgot about Ghost Hunters! I actually get a kick out of that show! They never really find anything, but it still kind of interesting. :)
