home step vs club step

Hey, everyone, in your opinion, is it worth investing in the club step if I already have the home step, which is a little bit shorter in width and perhaps in length as well? Does the increased size make a difference in the intensity of a workout?

I have to modify a few moves on the step (flying angels, etc) because I don't have as much room to move around, but I manage, so that is not a concern as much as if I am missing out on intensity. I also add one of the firm steps to the end of my home step for weight work, so that's not an issue either. I guess it's just about intensity, unless there's something else I may be missing. What do y'all think??

If I do invest in a larger step, which do you think is best - the club step (purple and green I think) or the other one that was in a recent post - grey and black, with chunkier risers?

Thanks!

Hi Kerrie~

I would suggest getting the club step (purple and green; BTW it's also available w/ grey top and black risers) because the risers work with the 14x14 high step platform. So ideally, you should have six risers and a long top and 14x14 top (purchased separately). I tested the step w/ the "chunkier" risers. It is an excellent step/bench but the risers are not compatible w/ the high step 14x14 platform so I returned it and got the club step instead. I also got rid of all my Firm step-up boxes as well. Didn't need them after I got the 14x14 high step platform.

I was in the same posiion you are a few years ago. I got the longer step. My workouts became more intense and harder because I had larger range of motion, so it was worth it! I have a Reebok step, though, not club. It was cheeper at the time.

I have a small one, I got it when I was really overweight, and it helped me to loose 30 lbs, but to tell you the truth, now that I am slim and in shape I feel ridiculous on it, it is time to get the Club Step, it adds more intensity since your moves have to be bigger, there is a huge difference doing the V step in a small one that in the club one, if you know what I mean
