Holding on to that edge

Greetings - I'm a first time poster to this list but a veteran Cathe user. I'm very fit, very low bodyfat, very disciplined and have high energy: typical type "A." But I find that when I am right there where I want to be - worked off the weekend wine jiggle, happy with what I see in the mirror, love the way my clothes fit - that some demon in my mind takes away my motivation and convinces me that I should fall backwards a little bit. Does anyone else have this issue?? How does a person who is not trying to lose weight overcome this cyclical demon and hold that edge that we all work so hard to achieve? What tricks do you use to push past this "plateau" and, perhaps, get to an even better one? (Shopping for underwear and jeans works wonders, but I can only afford so much of that...) If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please respond.

Thanks, Charlotte

Oh, this is my pitfall, too!!! As soon as I see what I want to see, the slacking begins...I have a pair of jeans that fit PERFECTLY when I'm in shape...5 lbs too heavy and they get that "crease" in the butt when I walk...Those jeans are my motivation!

My other motivation is my daughter...Before I got into shape I was a smoker and couldn't keep up with her, AT ALL...It's amazing what I missed back in the day, and never want to have that lack of energy again...Personally I think it was a combination of smoking and being out of shape, not just one or the other...

Afternoons are motivation...If I don't workout in the morning, I'm dead on my feet by 2...Being a Realtor, I sometimes am showing houses or walking land later in the evening (and then today it's 3:15 and I've worked out, showered and ended up with jammies on again!)...I can't give my all to my clients (or family) without giving myself the gift of health and fitness...It's not fair to ANYONE...

My dog is a bit overweight, and I can take him for runs now...A year ago?? Couldn't even walk to the mailbox and back without huffing and puffing and my shins hurting (please keep in mind that my mailbox is a 1/2 mile round trip, not at the end of the drive!)!

DH thinks I look "buff" now...That's another good one...

I FEEL GREAT!!

Hope that helps?? There are always "little" things to keep up the GREAT job you're doing! Welcome to the forum!
