Hiked up Pikes Peak & Got Married!!!!

Hi All!
I've been on the vacation of a lifetime for the past 4 weeks hiking through several of the major national parks (Badlands, Yellowstone, Glacier, Tetons, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Arches, and Rocky Mt.) with a final hike up Pikes Peak. My long time "common-law" husband (25 years) and I decided to make it a formal union and got married at the summit of Pikes Peak after a grueling hike up this past Tuesday! I put on a veil for the last 3 miles out of the treeline and huffed and puffed through that last brutal mile. We exchanged our vows and became instant celebrities as everyone at the visitor's center became papparazzi! We put "Just Married" signs on our backpacks and my DH had a bunch of cans tied to is backpack that he dragged around! This was the perfect way for us to get married! I am still giddy !
I think that the folks in Colorado are some of the fittest, most health conscious people I've ever seen....maybe they'll let us retire there?
Feeling a Rocky Mountain High,
Nancy ;)

Perfect ending to the most amazing vacation. Wonderful and congrats! Next time you plan such an itinerary, can I come?!?!?!?!

I too am thinking of heading to live in Colorado or Washington state just as soon as the kids finish high school. See you there!

So pleased for you!

When we moved to Colorado four years ago, I immediately noticed how fit everyone is. I do live in a mountain community where folks tend to be even more fit, but for the outdoor enthusiast, it is an awesome place to live. Congrats on getting married on top of the world!

From someone who gazes at Pikes Peak every day, CONGRATULATIONS! I'm glad you went this week - there was a foot of snow up there 2 weeks ago. You sure have visited some gorgeous places!

Nancy--Congras! We would love to have you join us in Colorado. It is a great place to live. Pam

Congratulations!! We have been having beautiful weather and Colorado is a great place to live - been here 49 years!! When I was younger, I always said, "If my husband had a job transfer and had to move from Coloado, I would divorce him." LOL!!! I haven't been married, so it's not an issue. I've been with my SO 23 years.
