High Step DVDs?

If you use the high step for the #2 and #3 DVDs, does this mean we will be stepping up and down on the high step most of the time. I don't think my knees would appreciate it. Could you explain what we will be doing in these workouts for those of us who don't quite get it yet? Thanks in advance.
