We're back! I see I have tons of catching up to do here! (A zillion red flags staring at me!) Did I miss anything important? Fill me in!

We had an awesome time. We spent our first two days at the Grand Canyon and words cannot begin to describe it. Just breath-taking! We hiked two trails and after we finished the second one, we went to the visitors station and found out it was the steepest and most dangerous!!! They are even considering closing it down as it has not been maintained as well. There were a couple times we were hugging the inside wall to go around bends. We felt much accomplished after it was complete. Total HIGH! I am surprised that they don't monitor who goes on any of the hikes. You are on your own. Had a WONDERFUL time! Then, it was to Vegas the rest of the week. Wow, what a place! The lights are unbelievable at night time. We took in three shows: Mama Mia, Celine and Cher. Enjoyed every one. A very special hi-light of the week was meeting our very own AndreaL from here and her family! We got to spend two different nights together. The first was a great dinner out to the Cheesecake Factory! :9 Hubbies hit it right off. (Talking cars of course) Then, they had the opportunity to go to the Cher concert with us which was a blast! She had us dancin' in our seats! Headed out for a bite to eat afterwards and spent more time getting to know each other. FUN, FUN time! (Thank Andi!!!) We did try the slot machines a few times and won $.50 at the airport when all was said and done! Ha! I've really missed you guys. I have tons to do this week getting ready for my fall session that starts Monday, not to mention three full suitcases of dirty clothes! :eek: Just wanted to say it's great to be back. Hope all is well with you ALL!

Glad you are back home, but also happy that you had a wonderful time. I can picture you and Dave hugging that mountain. Did you keep your eyes straight ahead or did you look down? I bet it was scarey if you looked down!
Hope you took lots of pictures on your trip. It sounds like a trip to treasure.
Sorry I missed you call before you took off. Will be in touch later though.

Hi Debbie - welcome back!! You were sorely missed!! I'm glad you had a great time and met Andrea - looking forward to the pictues! HA! I know what you mean about the Grand Canyon - makes you take a step back and marvel of this wonderous country we live in! I did one of those trail hikes a while back - on the back of donkey! Suffice it to say that our Cathe is a softie until you ride the the back of a donkey, in a hard saddle... talk about sore - Ouch!! Glad you're back and ready to tackle the laundry, fall session and the Body Blast Series - almost here!!!

We missed ya girl!

So glad you're home safely and had such a fabulous time!

It has been relatively quiet around here -- very few new pics posted, lots of us endlessly surfing the same pics over and over <grin>. Cathe posted an amazing September rotation which should get us all buffed up and ready for the Blast!

Kept my eyes on the wall I was grabbing onto! It was the greatest thrill when we were done! Talk about a workout for the thighs & glutes! Whew! Even my fingers hurt the next day. Grasping safety, I guess! ;-) We took tons of pix. I will try to download some later at the Cathe Addicts site. Haven't had a chance to look at them myself yet. I am on about the 4th. load of laundry and there are still piles! Sorry I missed you too on the call. We'll catch up later.

Thanks so much Barbara, Barbie, Iris & Kathy. I missed you all too. Sounds like there is lots of excitement and a lil' "scaredness" (is that a word?) around here about the BB Series! I can't wait. We did tons of walking and I also used Cathe's Vacation workout 3X! It is a great workout. My thighs and glutes were feeling it bigtime. Kathy, hmmm, wonder why it was sooo quiet around here? Could it be because SOMEONE was gone? Again, great to be back!

I am so sorry I didn't get the buffet list to you. It just didn't register (at all) that you were leaving so soon. Time flew so fast, and I felt terrible after I got your goodbye post. I'm glad you had a fantastic time,though, and I am incredibly impressed by your hike... I'm terrified of heights!! Welcome back :)

And hey, I think you're quite astute -- SCARED is a pretty good word to use to describe how I feel, anyhow, when I look at the sneak preview pics from the Timesaver DVD (uh, among others!)

Hi Kathy!

Here is Cathe's Vacation Workout. It is GREAT! I brought only two-5 #ers with me. I still could feel a good workout wth 5's! (My suitcase weighed 10 EXTRA pounds! :p) I did the Mon./Wed./Fri three days making sure to put at least a day between them. I didn't do them specifically on those days. All days while on vacation, we walked LOTS and hiked trails. I truly felt like this helped me maintain my weight and not fall behnd at all in my full force workouts. Read on for the details!

CATHE'S VACATION WORKOUT
25 minutes a morning is all you need to maintain enough so that when you come back you will not feel out of the loop. Bring one set of moderate pound dumbbells (5 or 8 pounds)Here is a sample two week vacation workout:

Monday/Wednesday/Friday

a) Warm Up:
5 minute brisk walk

b) Legs:
Leg Blast:
30 seconds non-weighted squats
30 seconds plyo jacks
30 seconds squats/ with dumbbells in hands
30 seconds front kicks (no dumbells)
30 seconds side kicks (no dumbbells)

Forward lunges (with dumbbells)....3 sets 15 reps (Rt leg 15 / Left leg 15 then do the next set).

Back lunges (with dumbbells).....Same reps/sets as forward lunges.

c) Torso/Arms
Chest: 3 sets of 10 push ups...On last rep of last set hold push up 1/2 way down for 20 seconds.

Back: One arm dumbbell rows (put both weights in one hand) do 3 sets of 15 reps per arm.

Biceps: Concentration curls (put both weights in one arm)do 3 sets of 15 reps.

Triceps: ALTERNATE one set of dips (15 reps) with one set of double arm kickbacks (do as many as you can with that weight and good form). Do three alternating sets.

Shoulders: Seated bent arm side lateral raises (10 reps) right into rear delt flys (as many as you can with that weight and good form). Do three alternating sets.

Abs: traditional crunches for 3 minutes and then flip over and hold a one minute plank

Stretch



Tues/Thursday/Saturday

A 25 minute walk/run (this includes 5 minute brisk walk warm up and three minute stretch)

Bon Voyage

Thanks everyone. We miss that place already. It was sooo nice to meet up with an old friend, a NEW friend (Hi Andi) and my Aunt & Uncle.

Sara, don't feel bad. Trust me...we found PLENTY of food! Actually, we decided not to do the buffet thing as we eat too much when we do!
