Hi everyone -- I posted family pix!

TarHeelMom

Cathlete
I couldn't wait to post at Cathe Addicts, so I made an album at PictureTrail of recent snapshots from my sons' soccer games and my younger son's summertime graduation from Space Academy. I also included a nice shot of my DH and a couple of shots of my youngest and forever baby, Eddie the Bichon.

The album is password protected for viewing by our group only. At the mainpage, on the left column under "View Album" enter my user name, kathshap. Then your password for a look at all four of my wonderful boys2men will be "cathe" (what else???:) :))

Enjoy and thanks for letting me show off to some of my most prized pals! Click on this link to take you to the main page.

P.S. To see the whole four-picture group montage of all my boys, you'll need to click on that picture individually and scroll across the screen from left to right. It's a very long picture (scanned in, not great quality). In the slide show you won't see the entire thing. Thanks again!

Too cute! Very nice of you to share with us, and they are all so handsome! I love the perpetual baby, as I have a mini dachshund who I adore, and that is exactly what she is for me. A baby! She really fills that void of having something small to take care of and spoil. Didn't quite want another REAL baby, but I did kind of sort of, in a wierd way. Hard to explain, but the small dog fits the spot doesn't it?

I wish I could figure out a way to do that picture thing.....

Dani, its easy to post pictures as long as your pictures are in I think its called jpeg form, on a floppy disk. All you do is follow instructions on the picture trail web site. .... you can see the 2 pictures I posted of myself and my sons and nephew there, user name rcook. .... God bless ... Rhonda :7

Hi kathy, great pictures, was hoping to see yours too :-( .... :7 ... maybe soon .... God bless Rhonda

Hi Dani!

Thanks for the kind words -- I think they're gorgeous boys, all of them!! You're so right about those pooches, too -- they fill a gap in a very different but satisfying way. There are days when Eddie just drives me nuts, and the realization that he's never going to "grow up" is daunting. But then I look at his furry adoring face and I just meltdown every time. He is indeed my baby!

The pix thing is easy. We have a digital camera but these pictures weren't originally digital. They were taken with my husband's old Nikon camera. I took the negatives from a couple of rolls of film to the camera store on Friday and for $15 they transferred the pictures onto a CD for me. Then I just logged onto PictureTrail.com, where you can get a free picture account with basic album privileges for a few months. The instructions for uploading the pictures were very easy, and I just uploaded them directly from the camera store's CD. The only picture that wasn't done that way was the foursome, and that one I just scanned into my computer on my son's all-in-one printer. Then I uploaded it from my hard drive to my "inbox" at PictureTrail.com.

Try it and you'll be amazed at how easy it is -- we'd love to see you and your family!

Kathy-
Your guys are gorgeous, but would it be so awful to include a pic of Mom in there?? It would be nice to associate a face with your name.

I asked my husband about the Space Academy program and he wishes it had been around when he was a kid or when his son was a kid. He wants to know how many weeks it is? I think he's really jealous. He spent a good part of his youth building model rockets and dreaming of being an astronaut. Then he discovered Star Trek and was an organizer of the first convention. A dyed-in-the-wool nerd! Is Evan headed in that direction? Does he love computers too?

Thanks so much for sharing Kathy! (I sent you an email very recently).

Your pal in New York,
Nancy

Hi Nancy!

Hey girl! I did get your e-mail and loved it -- haven't had time to do a chatty response but will do so this evening.

Thank you for complimenting my boys! I am going to post a picture of me, I promise, as soon as I can get the boys to take one of me! I'm always the cameraman. I'll also rummage around here to see what we've got of me that's fairly recent.

Space Academy is awesome and tell your DH that they have adult and family programs! It's offered 52 weeks a year, and runs 5 short days -- we dropped Evan off on a Sunday at noon and returned on Friday for graduation. I believe the adult programs are as short as a weekend. Evan has loved it and we've actually talked about going as a family. My husband wants to go and take Aviator Challenge, which is fighter pilot training -- offered also at the NASA center. All of these programs are also offered at the NASA center in Florida, too, by the way -- if you're going to travel to one place or the other, the Florida NASA center might be more fun to visit generally. Here's the website -- www.spacecamp.com. I hope your DH will enjoy looking at it!

Cathe Addicts is a member group at MSN started by Pam (Fitnut) -- there are several members who've posted pictures, success stories, notes, etc. I posted yesterday that I tried to load pictures onto that site but wasn't "recognized" as a member -- apparently Pam has to "approve" my application before I get posting privileges. The site address is: http://groups.msn.com/CatheAddicts

Talk to ya soon!

Hi y'all -- I added a pic of me!

Well, bowing to popular demand ;-) I've scoured our recent snapshots and found one (not a really flattering one, but one nonetheless!) of me taken several weeks ago at a soccer game (or maybe practice, I can't exactly recall.) I have added it to my album at the very end, for those of you who are just dyin' to see who I am!

The boys are all very handsome young men. And I agree with Nancy, a picture of their mother in there somewhere wouuld be great, to sort of explain the genetic inheritance, if nothing else!!!!

Wow Kathy! The boys have gotten sooo big/mature! Thanks for sharing them with us all. Do you still have those pix of Disney? (I think that is where you were??) There were some great shots of you in those I remember! You're too cute!

kathy:

I loved your picture. Now I have a face for you. And you have a lovely face and gorgeous thick hair and I am too jealous of it!!!

Clare

Hi Clare!

You are too sweet! It does an ol' middle-aged mom good to hear such nice compliments! Clare, this hair of mine is as fine as a baby's -- I sing the praises of Pantene products, I'm tellin' you! I use the fine hair extra volumizing shampoo, conditioner and mousse and it makes a world of difference in my hair. If you saw me without "product" in my hair -- well, let's say my head looks a bit more like a deflated stability ball!:)

P.S. Clare, I got your wonderful e-mail and just haven't had time to construct a thoughtful reply -- but I will! You're terrific to take the time to write to me and I really appreciate your advice!

Hi Debbie!

You are SO right about my boys -- huge and mature indeed! I find it especially noticeable in my younger son -- he's shot up this summer and his face has lost that last bit of baby fat (and soccer's pounded the couch potato fat from his tummy that accumulated last spring when he broke his ankle!:))

Disney... hmmm, we haven't been there in several years, but Debbie, I think you're thinking about our trip abroad a couple of summers ago, but I'd forgotten about those -- there WERE a few shots of me on those rolls, come to think of it! I'll see what I can find. It's sweet of you to remember and many thanks for the compliment, too!

I LOVED your trip pictures at Cathe Addicts. What's the trick to posting pics there? I was saying in another post earlier this weekend that I can log in but the site doesn't recognize me as an "approved" member. I e-mailed Pam but haven't heard back -- got any ideas?
