Hi all- looking for a buddy-

Hi everyone- hope you are all doing well and feeling great! This winter has been tough on my poor kids- first year in daycare and sick all the time since Oct.

Anyway, I'm looking for a buddy to stay on track with. I'm not nearly the expert exerciser that most of you are. I get a little intimidated reading your posts because although I love Cathe and ordered the HC seried, I still have trouble getting through most of her tapes. I feel like I need to connect with someone who might be starting out or returning after a long , long break (like me).

Anyway, I'm 36, have two small children (2&3), work full-time and have at least 40 pounds to lose. I enjoy working out but I feel like I have to make myself do it and would love to be accountable to someone besides myself. I am trying to eat clean and would love to finally loise some of this excess weight.

Hi Jean, please don't ever feel intimidated by us, heck I've been doing Cathe for 3 years now and sometimes I still can't get through her workout but I feel great after:) It takes time to work up to our girl Cathe. It looks like you have 2 "full time" jobs so it will take time to find out what works for you. Have you consider joining the "open forum" daily check in. I think sometimes they even do a clean eating post too. It might help keep you motivated and get some ideas. Well good luck on your goals:) and you have a great night too;-)
 
I agree. Join us on the daily check-in post. It's great motivation and is very informative. I know I have made some great friends on there.

Don't ever feel intimidated. We are here to support each other. We don't criticize or look down on others who can't do as many pushups or whatever. Who cares if you can't finish a workout-you're doing a workout and that's what matters. A fitness journey has to start somewhere and you're on your way. Besides, if it were easy we'd all look like Cathe. And trust me, I'm a long, long way from that. Instead, we support each other to be our best no matter what that may be at that moment. Welcome to the forums and I hope you love it here as much as I do.

Thanks everyone for the great encouraging words! I just completed the first 30 min of MIS. I think you are all right- I need to pace myself and just keep plodding along!

I think I'll check -in over at the daily check-in. Again, please know that I really appreciate the support- this is tough to do alone!

Hi Jean. i am also a daily thread poster like Wendy. it is a great way to stay accountable, plus we gab alot over there about alot more than our daily workouts. Everyone is welcome and the group is awesome. we have all different levels of fitness around here! Come on over and congrats on your decision to get healthier!

Hi Jean. Welcome aboard. Well I've been working out with Cathe since the 90s and there are some days that I just have to hit the pause button. It happens to almost everybody. The important thing is that you are doing something about it instead of sitting around hoping for a miracle. These forums are the best. I've been a lurker and poster for years (I'm guessing 2000 or 2001), I can't post daily but even if I don't post I try to check the forums on a weekly basis. I have learned a lot about fitness by communicating with other Catheites and reading posts. Don't ever feel intimidated. There are women and men of all fitness levels that ask questions all the time. I wish you the best and just remember to start slow and give your body rest when it needs it. Give it time and you will lose the excess weight. Take care.

Good to meet you. I think I could be your buddy lol! It sounds like our situations are similar. I understand the need to connect with someone who is at the same fitness (or lack of fitness in my case) level. I am trying to return after a way too long break as well. Are you planning on checking in on the existing thread or thinking of something else?

I am also fairly new to Cathe w/ 30 lbs. to lose. I have been only doing her workouts since Christmas and have stuck to Basic Step/Body Fusion and High Step Circuit. I do have some of the Hardcores preordered, but didn't order the entire set (when I discovered Cathe they were already up to $250). I'd love to join you as a buddy.

I too am a Catheite and at times I am just like the others posters who at times cannot keep up with Cathe or have hit the PAUSE button and look at Cathe like she's crazy, but I LOVE her dearly.

So please do not feel discourage and always know that here at this forum you have LOTS of BUDDIES :D :D :D :D.

Thanks to all of you who took the time to answer this post. I love the fact that you are all so encouraging and down to earth. I actually posted on the daily check-in tonight and really enjoyed reading everyone's posts.

To Gina and Stephanie- it's great to "meet" you both and would love to check-in with you guys daily as well. Let me know if yor are interested!!

Tonight I did the first five intervals of IMAX2- tonight I'll probably do PUB.
