Hey there "Trevor"

I read in one of your posts that you are NOT a certifiied fitness instructor of any sorts!

Just wanted to say, that if this is correct, then I am really impressed with your knowledge on fitness related subjects. You must play a MEAN game of Trivia Persuit. Some of the Instructors i have met in my time, know jack sh******t! compared to what you share with us.

Have you ever thaught about becoming part of the Fitness Industry in any way?

Thanks
:)

P.S If you are quolified, I still think your knowledge is greatly appreciated

RE: Hey there

Well you both just made my day. Thanks so much for the compliments. :) I know quite a few here who might disagree with you! LOL!
I am not a certified trainer. I have a degree in Biology though and some of the things I learned while getting that are helpful in fitness-related topics.
What I do and what has helped me the most is to do fairly exhaustive internet searches on various fitness topics. Mostly muscle fibers and how to manipulate them. And designing weight workouts. And ways to make workouts(weight and cardio) more efficient and productive. If you do enough searching around for info, and have worked out long enough(in my case basically my whole life) then you learn what works and what does not work. You also learn to weed out the BS that is out there as well. Alot of this stuff is based on the individual, but there are some general guidelines that I believe in.
I am considering getting certified and have talked about it with the people who run the club where I workout. It would be just as a PT though and not as an instructor in any of the classes. I am still unsure of doing it though since I'd have to fit it in around my "real job". :)
As for Trivial Pursuit, I'll take the Sports and Science questions every time! LOL!
Thanks again for brightening my day.
T. :)

RE: Hey there

Hey Trev, you already know this, but just so it's "on record" here, I second and third the notion you should become certified!! You'd kick a** for sure!!

:) :) :)

RE: Hey there

Trev, aren't you already certifiable? }( Can someone be both certified AND certifiable? Maybe we should start a thread on that question ...

RE: Hey there

I vote for both certified and certifiable. LOL
Seriously, Trevor, you really do have loads of knowledge. I'm happy that you share your knowledge here with us. I am sure you have helped many people here,(even those who do not post) to liven up their workouts and be more informed about fitness gear, exercises that work and those that don't, etc. Yet...
It would be wonderful if you could use that knowledge to help and encourage even more people to take charge of their health and their lives.

RE: Hey there

Thanks for that link Mariela. I have not seen it before and will check it out.
Thanks!!
T. :)

After all Trevor...

This IS an "educated" crowd and they know what they are talking about! Go 4 it!
