Hey Ruth (anniversary girl)...

TarHeelMom

Cathlete
I'm putting this in a separate post because I want to make sure you see it. Just want to tell you I am SO sorry about the mess you and DH are having to deal with because of your check card number. :-( I hope it's resolved really quickly!

For what it's worth to you guys in the future, my DH and I established a rule some years ago when our family started becoming avid internet shoppers. We have one credit card that we ONLY use for internet purchasing and that we ALWAYS use for internet purchasing (exception: small items on eBay paid by PayPal, and I do mean small). That way when we have a dispute with a merchant (which has happened a couple of times) we know immediately that it's an internet purchase problem because the bill came in on that card. And we also have the safety "lock" of being able to dispute the merchant's charge. Knock on wood, so far we've been okay!

And by the way, you asked me which day for me and DH, and it's the 12th. ;-)

Hi Kathy,

Yikes, I almost missed this! You have to be fast around here!

Your idea is a good one. I would consider doing that, but DH doesn't want to use actual credit cards anymore. Except for emergencies, I mean. We're trying to pay off the only one we have kept. But, after this experience I may be able to change his mind. Especially because of the difference in disputing a charge, which is much easier & doesn't involve FREEZING MY FUNDS! ~sigh~

It's been 2 days & I still haven't received the paperwork from the bank. Hopefully it will come tomorrow so I can get it back to them by Monday.

So...the 12th! What made you decide to have a January wedding? In our case, we loved snow & spent most of our free time in the mountains...sure enough, there was a huge snowstorm the night of our wedding. I still love the mountains, but now that we're old:p we seem to prefer the beach.

Thanks for your good wishes Kathy. Have a great weekend!
Ruth:)
p.s. I love your little "days" thing. Cute!

Hi Ruth!

We actually chose the 12th because the place we really wanted wasn't available until then (and we booked it about 10 months earlier!) January in Atlanta isn't usually very wintry, but the year we got married, January 12th was the coldest of that date in Atlanta history for 100 years -- NINE degrees and a nasty wind chill on top of that. Still, there wasn't any rain or snow or ice, so we were lucky. It was a super, super weekend and we'd do it all over again exactly the same way. :)

You asked me what we're doing -- DH has made a dinner reservation but won't tell me where, just that I should "dress nice" (like I wouldn't anyway -- isn't that a total guy request? ;-)) It should be fun. I got him a little 36-bottle wine fridge that has already been installed into a closet, and he got me a gorgeous and VERY simple necklace. And he's not usually a jewelry-buying guy (which is okay since I wear my rings and watch and little diamond stud earrings every single day). This time the sweet guy did REALLY well!

Oh, Excellent! You see, after about 20 years or so of training, they do great! LOL

Yes, I love the "dress nice" thing...otherwise, I'm pretty sure you would have worn jeans & a ripped t-shirt, yes?;-) Men are so cute.

Give him a big hug just for being cute!

Ruth:)
