I posted this in Open Discussion too, but since it's the night before the big trip, I thought I'd resurrect this little poem for y'all. Have fun!
‘Twas the night before the road trip
And all through the house
Not a creature was stirring
Not even a mouse
The suitcases were placed
By the doorway with care
So they wouldn’t be forgotten
When we rushed out of there
And I in my Rykas
And best work out gear
Had just finished Bootcamp
To lift up my rear
When up on the roof
There arose such a clatter
That I flew from my step
To see what was the matter
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a high step, some weights
And assorted Cathe gear
With a cute little driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be Cathe Friedrich
More rapid than eagles her crew they came,
And she whistled, and whooped, and called them by name:
"Now, Cedie! now, Brenda! now Rhonda and Mark!
On, Jai! on Lorraine! I heard her bark
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now pendulum, pendulum, pendulum all!"
So up to the house-top the crew they jumped,
With the bag full of gear, they were all really pumped.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard loud and clear
The crew as they let out a boisterous cheer.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney they all came with a bound.
They were dressed all in Lycra, from head to toe,
And their faces were all shining with a healthy glow.
A bundle of gear was flung to the ground,
And they pulled out their steps and started dancing around
Their eyes -- how they twinkled – their quads were all flexed!
Their cheeks were aglow, well what would come next?
Their mouths were all smiling, teeth pearly and white,
With great hair and make-up, it was quite a sight!
The held 10 lb dumbbells in their hot little hands,
Then with a word from Cathe, they picked up their bands.
She had a big smile and a flat toned belly
That was the furthest thing ever from a bowl full of jelly.
She was toned and pumped, sprightly as an elf,
And I whooped when I saw her, in spite of myself.
A wink of her eye and a twist of her head
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
She gave great instruction and I got straight to work,
We mambo’ed and cha cha’d, I had quite a smirk
And laying her finger aside of her nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney they rose.
She sprang to the roof, to her crew gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard her exclaim, ere she flew out of sight,
"Happy Road Trip to all, and to all a good-night
