@@ Hey MELTERS! It's the Weekend @@

Hello everyone. We're missing church this morning (it will be starting in 4 minutes but we are at home still). DH is really worn out (he just went back to bed) and I didn't want to walk over there with my sprained ankle. I really wanted to go today for a sort of silly reason. We got our church newsletter a couple days ago and it has a wedding invitation printed on the front and it looks like the groom is our priest! (We're Episcopalian, so it's fine for him to marry.) I wasn't sure what his marital status was; kind of assumed he was a widower or divorced because I knew he'd talked about his kids but he seemed unmarried. So now it appears he's getting hitched--either that or he has a son with the same name, but there was no Jr. printed there. I can't believe I didn't know he was engaged. He's an older guy (not ancient, but old enough to be my father) so I guess I never thought about him as someone who dated or anything.

Well, anyway, I'd wanted to go today to see if they'd mention the wedding at church. I am having coffee with the assistant rector on Wed. morning, though, so I can ask her about it.

Anyhow, I am still trying to decide about a workout today. It might end up just being Clean Max--I really need to do some spring cleaning. Of course, even doing that I'll have to be careful of my ankle, I suppose.

TK, yeah, having the eyes dilated is pretty annoying--especially when you walk out of the office into the sun--yowza! I went on a Saturday specifically so Brian could drive because there's no way I could drive after that. I didn't do much reading until after my eyes went back to normal, though. Anyway, I keep waiting for the weather to improve to get back to work on the garden. It's only warm on rainy days! Oh, and my dermatologist has me use petroleum jelly on my legs before a shower to help with my eczema. I also use it on my son's eczema. Messy but effective.

Robin, I agree that it would be nice to meet up, especially since we are so spread out. At least you're in PA and I'm in NY--theoretically not that far but depends on where in PA--big state. And Deb is also in NY but pretty far from here.

Jennifer, glad you got your order straightened out. Cathe's team is great at customer service.

Deb, enjoy the elliptical workout (not sure if "enjoy" is the right word.

Leanne, that cost was for the exam, glasses, and a year's supply of contacts. I got polarized thin lenses (whatever they're called) for the glasses, since my prescription is so bad. Also, I have to get toric contacts for my astigmatism, so they're extra-pricey.

Shelley, glad people seem to approve of the frames. It's kind of tricky to pick out new frames when you've just had your eyes dilated! DH wasn't very helpful, either. I was hoping he'd find the perfect pair for me (like he can do with shoes) but instead he handed me a red pair that made my rosacea-face glow even redder. Eek! He described the pair I picked out as "not bad" and "better than the current pair" so that's the best I could do. :p

Shelley, yay for outside running! I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to run again with my gimpy knee. I'm waiting till I feel really good to try it out. I'm still trying to recover lost ground, fitnesswise.

Deb and Leanne, I liked Persuasion. I like Jane's endings. Even the "bad" guys usually end up OK. I started reading a book called The Heroines. It's about a bed and breakfast in the midwest run by a mother and daughter. Occassionally, heroines like Madame Bovary or Scarlett OHara appear for a respite from their literary life. Strange, but I like it so far.

Leanne and Shelley, so far I really like In the Ring. It seems like lots of fun. Do either of you have her other new kickbox workout? Do you like it?

Jennifer, I live in north central Pennsylvania.

tneah, so did you finally get to wear the wig and the heels?

Last night wasn't the best, sleepwise. Greyor had one of his crying jags starting about 10:30. I went down about 11 to try to help. He finally settled down after midnight, when I started to read to him. He really does love to be read too. We read Cat in the Hat and Hop on Pop as well as a slew of Boynton books. I'm hoping to have enough energy after work to do PUB. So far work has been nice and quiet.

Hello Melters.

Today,I've done nothing. No motivation and no energy once again, I cancelled my nursery duty early this AM.

Leanne-Glad to hear things are better with you and your DH. I have an old crush that is now a Catholic Priest in the San Diego area. St. Brigid Parish. I had considered moving to that area after college but it never happened.

Robin-Beautiful area. I think I've been there as a kid.

Shelley-did you enjoy your day yesterday? Great weather here.

Hey all,

I'm being "bad" this morning and keep putting off my workout. I've been snooping around on-line, just generally looking stuff up and wasting time, which isn't good. Gotta go get started on that workout!

Jennifer -- Just take it easy if you're feeling unmotivated! Do you think that you've just been doing too much lately? It sounds like you need to rest and relax! St. Brigid sounds familiar . . . I think it might be in the Point Loma area. You should come out here for a visit! We enjoy having guests!:)

Shelley -- How funny that we've all been doing In the Ring! Glad that your new running shoes are also working out well. Nothing like a new pair of sneaks to make your feet feel blissed out! Don't overdo it with all those chores today!

Robin -- Sorry you didn't get much sleep last night! That book The Heroines sounds like so much fun! I'll have to look into it. I just finished reading Lisa See's Peony in Love last night, so I need something new. The premise of The Heroines reminds me a bit of the series that starts with The Eyre Affair, where characters from literature keep popping into the story. Have you read it? It's really fun! I have AB's other new workout, and it's also fun. It's more hi/lo, with kickboxing intervals, which I wasn't expecting.

Lainie -- Interesting news about your priest! Hopefully on Wednesday you can find out more of what's going on.

Tneah -- I'm taking it as a good sign that we're not seeing you this morning! Not that we don't love and miss you, but I hope that this means that the hotel stay went well and that you're enjoying a nice morning away from home!}(

*saunters into thread*

Uh, hello everyone. I have just enough energy right now to tell you I am happy to report "Jersey Boys" at the Palazzo was fabulous, the room was fabulous, I cheated beyond cheated on my diet plan-mixed nuts, egg rolls, wine (yes, I went there)and chocolate.:9 Wish I would have remembered to take pics, we both dressed up and looked quite smashing.

And of course, I reminded my darling DH "one or two" of the reasons he married me.;) Ah yes, that counts as cardio right?}(

Need to nap now....

****Clap, clap, clap**** Yay for tneah's romantic get away. I'm so happy it happened for you! Enjoy your nap.

Leanne, yes, I've read the Jasper Fford series. All except the lastest book. That's what I thought of when I picked this book up. I'll have to put Amy's other workout on my "to get" list.

The workday is almost done. Yahoo. I'm running out of steam. I may have to take a short nap before working out later.

More cheers for Tneah!! Glad you had a fantastic time, chica, and that you indulged in all those yummy treats. And, yes, that should definitely count as your cardio!}(

Robin -- Glad that the day is almost done! I think I'll make a trip to the library this week to pick up The Heroines. It sounds like fun in the same way that the Fforde books are! How are you feeling, by the way? Are the meds working on the shingles? Don't overdo it!:)

The meds seem to be helping. The rash only burns a little. Otherwise, it's like having a head cold with a cough and stuffy nose. I can tell I'm sick though. My workouts aren't at all up to par. Believe me, I am taking in easy. I did PUB today and dropped down from my usual weight for almost everything.

Hello Melters.

Still enjoying the sun and warmth for a change. Yes, I think I've overdone it the past couple of weeks.

My friend, Michele, whom has been ill is still eating well but not working out. She called to say Hello today.

Leanne-Have you ever heard of some Catholic church in Oceanside called "Our Lady of the Ocean?" something like that. It's where Steve was ordained. He hasn't heard from me or seen me in years. Yes, I would love to come out and visit. See what happens in the fall. NY is in late June, plus lots of stuff planned for summer already.

Tneah-Yes, it does count as cardio. especially 2-3 times per week.

Looking forward to the new workouts, previewing HCE will be interesting but I may learn to appreciate IMAX3 more.

Robin-feeling better? Lainie too?

Evening all!

YAY FOR TNEAH!! I'm so glad you had a wonderful time:)

Leanne - I have Amy's other new workout too, thanks to Lainie, who sent both of them to me for my birthday:D What s sweetheart!

Lainie - did you get to a workout, or was Cleanmax it for the day?

Robin - did you get a nap. Sorry to hear Greyor was restless. I was thinking about you today. We got together around this time last year, didn't we? End of April. Maybe we can meet halfway somewhere because I miss you! That book sounds great!

Jennifer - the weather is AMAZING! I did two hours of yardwork this afternoon and it felt so wonderful to be out there and NOT SHOVELING!

So, yes, as mentioned, I did two hours of strenuous yard work (lots of raking and squatting down to clean leaves out of gardens, plus filling bags with leaves and garden debris). Plus we went shopping and I got Chris and Sophie new cell phones. Sophie's is a surprise and she's going to go crazy! There will be some VERY strict rules regarding its use though. I saw some jeans at The Gap and tried them on, but they were more form-fitting than I'm used to (I tend to wear baggy clothes) and I didn't get them. I said to Chris when we got back that I should have bought them and he said "you should have - you have great legs and a great butt!". I think I might go back tomorrow and pick them up:)

Hi Again.

Yesterday, I did yard work and it took me more than two hours. I had my breaks like chatting with the neighbours to find out the latest and greatest and trying to get ahold of my Mom too. It was not even a full bag of debris even though I have 3 large Norway Maples in my yard.

Other than that, I hope to get my energy back for my new workouts. I promised my friend,Michele, if she can do Basic Step and Body Fusion then I will get her " Low Impact Step and Body Sculpting" from Cathe. She's all for it. We talked awhile back about her old boyfriend and we both agreed that she should be the EX that looks better. In case, she runs into him.

Shelley-Hope you like your new jeans.

Lainie-how's your ankle?

Robin-Feeling better yet?

Leanne-How far are you from Encinatas? That guy I mentioned to you earlier, I taught his younger brother how to downhill ski.

Have a Great Night.

Hey everyone,

DH will be with his gaming group until late tonight, so I've had a nice day to myself. I made a bunch of progress on that necklace I've been working on, and (hopefully) only have two or three more hours to go before it's finished. I'm hoping I can get it done next weekend. I also just got done watching the film version of _The Kite Runner_. Has anyone else seen it?

Jennifer -- What a small world! I live in a suburb of San Diego called Carlsbad, which is right in between Oceanside (north of us) and Encinitas (south of us) -- we're about 5-10 minutes away from each of them. I haven't heard of Our Lady of the Ocean, but I'll look into it. I grew up Catholic, but I grew up in a different area of San Diego, and I'm not familiar with the local churches from where we live now. Now you'll definitely have to plan a trip out here to visit! :) Sounds like you had a full day in the yard, too! Glad that your friend Michele is keeping up with her program. You're such great encouragement to her!

Shelley -- Ouch! I'm sore just thinking about all that yardwork you did today! Ah -- you have to go back and get those jeans now! Toss out those baggy clothes, girl, and get some new stuff to flaunt that hot bod of yours! I know you've lost a ton of weight, so you need some new stuff!:)

Robin -- Glad you're taking it easy! That rash doesn't sound like fun.

Hope the rest of you lovelies are enjoying the evening!
