Hi, Shelley!
I posted about this over the weekend but I guess it got lost in the shuffle.
We had so much FUN! Your recipe was SO helpful. We baked a bunch of Christmas-y cutouts and my kids also insisted on using the leftovers to make a huge fish (with giant teeth). Hehe. So we painted all of those. The only thing I was ticked about was forgetting to punch a hole in the top so they could actually be strung on a tree. Oh, well.
We also paper-mached a bunch of lightbulbs beforehand and I spray-painted them with white snow texture. We used all kinds of crafts to create all kinds of snow-people, including my very own Jerry Garcia special, with red button eyes and a leaf in his hat that looks suspiciously illegal.
Just in case the clay didn't work out, I also bought a bunch of wooden ornaments for like 30 cents each which we also painted. And I bought beads, corsage pins, and pieces of cork to make snowflakes (very cool! I will post a link to that if anyone is interested).
So thanks for all of your help and suggestions! It was a really fun evening for the kids (and for me).
Marie
