Hi Kathryn,

I just finished eating a Larabar. I bought two when I was in Illinos at Trader Joes per your recommendation. I love them-they taste so yummy. And, they have such good indredients (very few which is why I bought them). I wish we had a Trader Joes by us (I've checked health food stores by us but they don't carry them) but I'm sure I can buy them online. Thanks for the recommendation.

Joanne

Hi Joanne, I'm obviously not Kathryn but thought I would chime in here. I also tried them after Kathryn's recommendation and found them very yummy. I was able to find them in the health food section at Hy-Vee. I don't know if you have any Hy-Vee stores where you are, but if you do you might check there.

Hi Joanne,

Not Kathryn,

I love, love the pecan pie flavor.. I bought a box of 18 at my local Costco (San Diego) with 3 flavors, cherry pie, apple pie and chocolate coconut, these are good too, but not as tasty as the pecan pie!! :9 :9

Sorry to break in too . . . I love Apple Pie flavor. I get them at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods (which also carries the Maya bars -mmmmmm chocolate!). I think some health food stores carry them as well.

That what I had today-the apple pie flavor. I haven't tried Maya Bars. I'll have to keep a look out for them.

Joanne

Glad you like them.
What ones did you try? My favorite is the 'cherry pie,' though I haven't found a Lara Bar I didn't like!

Hi Kathryn,

After reading this post the other day, I picked up a Cherry Pie and Apple Pie bar. OMIGOD-I'm eating the Apple Pie now and I swear it tastes like I'm eating a yummy slice of Apple Pie with a crunchy date and walnut crust!

I generally don't like food bars--they all seem to have a lingering after taste of some kind. Until now I would only have a Luna Bar on occasion. This week, I will be definitely be adding Larabars to my shopping cart!!!!!

Thanks Kathryn !

Joanne, it's interesting to me that you describe them as "yummy". I eat Larabars every day of my life, but I'd trade 'em all in for just ONE Peanut Butter Cookie Lunbar, which I ration out to myself in very small doses. :( I agree that the Larabars are MUCH healthier.

Hi Joanne,
I just picked up some Oranic Fiber Bars at Trader Joes and I am going to order some online in different flavors. They have 14grams of Fiber in them at 160 calories, 3.5 gr. fat. The ingredients are all organic apple, walnuts, dates, gluten free oat fiber, flaxseed, rasins, lemon and safflower oil as the last ingredient. I love them...very dense and chewy. I have one every day with green tea and water...for a sweet fix that is good for me. Renew life is the company. I love Lara bars too...the Cherry Pie is yummy too! deb

>Someone else said this once, but every time I see this I
>think it says Labrador! Sheesh! :) And what a terrible thing
>to tell Kathryn, who is obviously a HUGE animal lover! ;)

I wouldn't mind, as long as it wasn't MADE from a labrador! (Perhaps labradors are gainfully employed in the mixing process, LOL!)

I used to have a cat named Frisco (dearly departed cat-love of my life), and it freaked me out when some place started selling "Frisco burgers"!

Amazon.com for both LunaBars and LaraBars. Sure you have to buy a whole box, but the price is great and over $25 the shipping is free. And they will often carry all the flavors that you can't always find in the store.
BTW, check them out for Stash teas as well!

CLIF actually makes what are called "Nectar Bars" now that are pretty much just like LaraBars---only whole ingredients. For example the Dark Chocolate Walnut has Organic Dates, Organic Walnuts, Organic Cocoa, and Organic Vanilla.

YUM!

Mattea,
I buy Larabars by the box too. Is the Amazon price better than the drugstore.com price? Drugstore charges $21 for a box of 16. Thanks.
Nancy

Dmd and others-thanks for all the info. I ordered a variety box off of the Larabar website and just received them. I will have to try the organic fiber bars.

Also, I've been making those big breakfast cookies (recipe from this forum) and I love those too.

BTW, I love to have a bar too with tea, I'm a big tea drinker.
