Hey, have you seen my motivation? I just had it but now I can't find it...

The title says it all!

I was doing great with my workout schedule but I really slacked on Week 3 (yes, I know...only made it to week 3 before I started slacking) of the Cathe Beginner Rotation.

This is day 5 of Week 4. I've only done ONE WORKOUT this week.

HELP!!

How do you get your motivation back when it goes away? I tried lifting...yoga...stretch...basic step... none of my favorite workouts are pumping me up at all. It's like I just don't feel like moving my body. Even when I start them, I have to force myself to do them... when usually, after about 10-15 minutes, I really get into it.

Any advice?

I don't know where you are but if it's like the Northeast US it has been a very cold spring so far ;). Everyone wants to get the groundhog. Last year I was walking on the trails about every day - this year not so much and it has affected my motivation!

What am I doing about it?

Bundling up and going outside for a nice long walk today! Granted it will supposedly be 49 today but with a north wind, it will be a chilly walk. It helps so much to get out, though!

Give it a try...

go outside, shoot some hoops, play with your dog.....being active does not have to be exercise....don't be so hard on youself it's supposed to be fun not a job.

Do you use the calender in the Workout Manager? That really motivates me....I hate blank days :p!

Perhaps it's time to try some NEW workouts . You've been doing the same workouts for almost a month -- I don't blame your motivation for taking a nose-dive.

I know with myself, I get bored easily. I'm always changing things up in my exercise routine to suit my mood. Sometimes I don't want to exercise in my home to a workout video. We are only human and crave variety in life. Get outside and walk! Go for a bike ride (if it's not cold and snowy where you live). Put on some music and dance! Try some exercise classes at your local gym or community center. Buy a new fitness goodie and give that a whirl! There are so many ways to spice up your exercise regime -- this goes way beyond workout video's.

Good luck!
