RE: DMD!

Great job quitting smoking! I know from experience that is quite an accomplishment! That is so wonderful! You better be so proud of yourself, you have given yourself and those in your home a much better quality of life and I KNOW it was hard! Right now, it's been a year. Before you know it, you'll be saying "Has it been 8 years already?" I just did the math...and it has been almost 8 years! However, the "smoking in my dreams" stopped only a few years ago and doubt they'll be gone for good! No matter to me...just as long as I'm not a SLAVE when awake!!!

Again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Hey Wendy,

I was wondering if you felt comfortabel enough to tell us how you stopped smoking? That is an amazing thing to do. From what I've read it is one of the TOUGHEST addictions to break. I am so impressed and so happy for you!

Wish I knew how to thrw a cool balloon party like DebH.
If you were here, I'd sing for ya:eek:

WOW guys! Thank you soooo much! Thank you Debbie for noticing in the first place! You all are such great people!:) :) :)

And to answer DMD's question about how I quit...have you guys ever heard of "smoke away"? It's a program of pills that is supposed to calm you down to make your withdrawal symptoms less harsh and easier to tolerate. Well it worked!!! In fact, it worked a little TOO well at times! It tended to make me feel "high" and "disconnected"! lol The program gave me enough supplies to stay on it for 60 days...I was able to get off of it after only 2 weeks! *I am patting myself on the back!:p*

Yes, it was THE most difficult thing I have EVER done in my life and YES, I am sooooo very proud and sooooo very happy that I was finally able to do it SUCCESSFULLY after smoking a pack a day for about 15 years. I had tried to quit about 4 times prior (all cold turkey) and never made it past one week w/o giving up! Anyone who can quit cold turkey deserves FAR more kudos than I do!!!:)

Thanks again everyone!!!

Have a great work out!

~Wendy~

I smoked my last cigarette on March 17, 2004 at 10:00 pm!

Impressive! That is wonderful. Now, wouldn't it be great if there was such a program for say....potato chip addiction?
