Hey Ectos!

Soosan

Cathlete
Hope everyone is doing well:) ! This week I am finishing up an 8-wk Pure Strength rotation and will move on to S&H next week. I've never done S&H, and since many of you have had this series a long time, do you all mind if I ask you some questions? Angela has already shed some light on which way S&H works best for her, and it sounds like she's gotten great results using it as is and totally restricting cardio. (Thanks, Angela!)

So, here are my questions:

1. How do you use it? (e.g., as is? one body per week? etc?) Why?
2. How long do you use it in a rotation? Why?
3. How often do you do cardio? Why?
4. What are your problem areas when it comes to looks (e.g., flabby abs, saddlebags, too thin all over)?
5. What are your problem areas when it comes to fitness? (e.g., weak abs and shoulders).
6. What are your goals (fitness and aesthetics)?
7. What results have you seen using this series?

The reason I'm asking all these questions is because Angela mentioned that in order to make strength gains, we ectos need to train differently than most people, so it makes sense to me to learn from people with similar challenges and goals. Of course, everyone's different, but it still might make reaching our goals more efficient if we share what has worked for us!

TIA!
:)

Susan....that's a lot of questions, I believe there is a limit to only 3 per post and that's stretching it. Why....because as a mother of many I have limited brain capacity at present and must try to remember all of those questions:eek:   . I'll let Angela handle most of them!!! For me...what was working prior to my pregnancy was doing one really heavy workout all upper body on one day per week and then PS all upper body about midweek and CTX upperbody at the end of the week (giving two days in between each upperbody workout) I would do LL and S&H legs once per week also and then IMAX. It was pretty much a TTR rotation. I had very good results.

To be honest, I am not currently on a rotation. I'm doing whatever the baby will let me get done. I need to begin a rotation soon, which is why I asked Angela to post her exact routine and weights (did she ever do that on the last thread - if she did I must have missed it). My problem areas are shoulders and lower body. I am really working my shoulders to give them that rounded look and it's definitely not there yet. I have a layer of fat on my tush and legs from being pregnant which I am desparately trying to get rid of.

I have been reading the dolfine.com site again and I've dove into a diet by Jay Robb, "Get ripped quicker" (as opposed to the "get ripped in 90 days" diet). Just the title of the diet gets me goin!!}( }( . And Angela...I feel fantastic. I can't have any grains at all for 30 days and I already feel great. Those grains do a number on bloating and tummy problems. I'm on day 8 and I'm really not hungry. The interesting thing is...some workouts I feel a little draggy, but some of them I feel supercharged. I'm keeping calories pretty low and munching loads of fresh veggies. When I'm finished with the 30 days...I'm going to eat a glazed donut :9 :9 :9 (my downfall). There is no exercise in the world which will get rid of those last 5-10 pounds, it has everything to do with diet. Not that exercise isn't important, you just have to cut those bad cal's if you really want to loose those last few pounds. To many, it's not that important to loose those last few and what's really important is your overall health and fitness (so don't blast me out there), but isn't it fun for a period of time to go for the gusto, bite the bullet, and get really ripped. Whether I ever attain this or not....it's given me the motivation to at least try. :7 :7 :7 :7 :7

Oh, come on, Briee! When I had babies, my house was immaculate, I was in fitness model shape, we ate candlelit gourmet dinners and had deep philosophical discourses after the children had quietly gone to bed for the ENTIRE night. And you can't even answer 7 measly questions?

Actually, I still have not recovered from "baby-brain" and my youngest is 3! And like I said before, I admire the heck out of you for even attempting to keep up a regular exercise routine.

You know how short this phase of your life is. Don't be too hard on yourself! And thanks for sharing what works for you!:)

LOL Susan, that sounds so nice!!! You are a wonderful parent!!;-) ;-) ;-)

So where is everyone...did we give them the week off???? I think NOT. }( }( }( }( And if they don't check in soon.....the Cathe police will be alerted to the situation and kick their little ecto tushes - which I should point out don't have too much padding to kick!!

I think I want a donut today!!!
