Why not? He could be filmed separately and his segments could be in a "blooper" section on the CD!

Though the idea of him joining in one of the weight training workouts is rather interesting.

I bow to you, oh wise one -- what a great idea, HB, to have him there to do a "follow-up" report. Even if he never writes a word, I think it would be a great "continuing education" experience for him to see what goes into the making of an exercise video.
