Hey Angela, Amadeus, and other ECTOS..

RE: Ecto gets serious!

Robin you are a blast, I'm so glad you're checkin in again. I'm missing Julie too but I can't get my smiley guy to cry!!;( ;( ;( ;( ...but he's crying inside!!

I guess I need a bun and thigh rocker, big time. I'm so proud of you doing 100lb squats. I've been doing 78lb and I don't know if I can balance anything greater than that or I might fall over!! I do three sets of 8 slow and heavy with Cathe. I just saw a BTR from someone local, but they never emailed back, BUMMER. I gotta have one now!! Peer pressure.....thanks a lot Robin!!!

RE: Ecto gets serious!

Briee, be careful if you buy a BNTR. I remember (just now, in fact http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0903/aktion/action-smiley-061.gif[/img]) that, when I bought mine, they were discontinuing it. I bought extra 25 lbs bands to use with mine, and they were discontinuing those, too. With the bands that come with it, you can only go up to 70 lbs.

If you have any questions, I do have a BNTR phone # you can call to get info on bands...I know, I'm a dork. http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0903/grinser/grinning-smiley-047.gif[/img]

RE: Ecto gets serious!

I got up to 93 pounds on the squats and that was the most weight hubby could lift up to my shoulders. I was supposed to do another set of 4 reps at 103 and a set of two reps at 113. I guess I could put my 5 lb ankle weights on my arms and get to 103. I may have to look into AJ's beloved weight vest. Either that or go back to the gym. Ugh.

Regarding the food sensitivities, I do indulge in some of the forbidden things, but I try not to do it too often and I always feel crummy when I do. It's sort of a trade off. If I want that peanut butter and chocolate (my favorites, of course) I know I'm going to bloat up, my nose will run and at night my sinuses will get stopped up. Lately, I've had a lot of trouble with my eyes being itchy and red, too. I do pretty much stay away from grains and dairy which are the worst for my gut problems.

Briee, I believe I've read the Nourishing Traditions book, but I must confess I've gotten to the point where I hate to cook. My main meals look like this:
Breakfast: grilled chicken and squash w/butter, cinnamon and raisins
Lunch: canned organic veggie soup with grilled chicken added
Dinner: Chicken salad or ground turkey pattie with peas and carrots or green beans

Snacks include organic applesauce (different flavors), Pumpkorn, chicken franks, Balance bars.

Oddly enough, Balance bars are about the only protein bars I seem to be able to eat without digestive problems, which is too bad - I love the high protein bars - yummy and convenient.

RE: Ecto gets serious!

Also, there's always a squat rack, if you have room somewhere. I thought about one (Walmart has a couple), but for me, squats are awkward. My femurs are long (genetic mutant that I am), so I have to bend way over to keep my knees from jutting past my toes...this causes me to bend over almost too far to maintain correct form.

The BNTR keeps my knees in alignment. I can also, for some reason that I can't explain, do plie squats on it and keep good form. My feet are close together, but my knees don't go past my toes. Some freaky law of physics/parallel universe/twilight zone oddity. http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0903/verkleidung/costumed-smiley-036.gif[/img]

RE: Ecto gets serious!

I know I'm going to get YELLED at for snooping here, but Robin...if you want that lil' box in front of your smilie icons to disappear, after you have the link in place, remove the first set of brackets at the beginning of the link and also the letters "i m g" that are within that first set of brackets. Does this make sense? Preview your message to make sure it still works. Okay, I'm outta here before I get yelled at. Back to washing my floors! http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0903/sprachlos/speechless-smiley-022.gif[/img]

RE: Ecto gets serious!

Debbie, I'd never yell at you. And thanks so much for telling me how to get rid of that weird box! I was hoping no one would notice.

Stop washing floors. It makes me look bad.:p

RE: Ecto gets serious!

Oh Debbie...come on.....we love it when you post!! Just fun to give you a hard time }( }( }( }( .

Hey Robin I washed my floors today too - so there!!

(I'm just trying to make myself feel better about not being able to do 100 pound squats......YET!!) :p :p :p :p

Briee

ps I noticed the little box and was wondering how on earth you can do such neat smiley's and not fix your little box, but not any more!!!! - good thing we have debbie (good thing you have a sense of humor too!!)

Hey Robin, re: BNTR

Well, here's another buttinski -- usually I just sneakily enjoy your ecto thread, because I'm not an ecto (I don't know what I am, but one thing for sure I'm NOT is a skinny-fat ecto.)

I have a BNTR and have been meaning to get some extra bands. Can you PM me or post the number where I can call to get more bands before they're gone with the wind?

By the way, all you little ecto ladies -- y'all are magnificent beasts! I am dumbfounded at how heavy you're squatting (Angela, tiny one, are you squatting more than you WEIGH???) You all may consider that you have a hard time building visible muscle, but girls, it is most definitely THERE!!!! Way to go! http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/happy/1356.gif

For you, Kathy, ANYTHING!!! Here's the number: 1-800-823-9998. I hope they still have them. Good luck!!!

RE: Ecto gets serious!

LOL, Briee. I don't know how to fix odd little boxes, cuz I don't know nuttin' 'bout no 'puters. The smilies are easy...Just click and they appear. http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0903/alles_moegliche/mixed-smiley-019.gif[/img] www.clicksmilies.com

Kathy S, I posted the BNTR ph number under your post.:*

Yo! Here I am!

:) :) :) Hey, Ecto's here I am!!!!!

I was hung up with unexpected "stuff" this week. That's my nice word for it, "stuff".

It's great to see all these gabby ecto's going at it again. (And Snoopy Debbie the Ecto-Wannabe.)

Briee now that you're done "expecting" I'm expecting to see that bicep vein pop out. When it does, I want photos!

Robin, my sister apple-ecto. I've missed my favorite ER nurse. I'd love to have you standing by for de-fib when I get this new circuit dvd. :+ :+

And Angie! And Angela! What a reunion.

I'll check in as often as possible, can't promise every week, but I'll definitley try.

Amadeus

PS-I can't wait to set some of those Debbie traps, again!:+

RE: Yo! Here I am!

Well it's about time, don't ya think!!! Better late than never...you're only like post number 51. By the time you check in next I'll be squating 100 lbs :p :p :p :p .

When my bicep vein DOES pop out.....I might let you touch it. We'll see...don't get too excited okay.

Robin...I didn't know you are an ER nurse. I think you guys are amazing, I could never do it. Hey have ya stuck any needles into really cool bicep veins lately?? I am very impressed...a friend of mine is an ER nurse and drives three hours from here to work in Milwaukee because she LOVES the intensity of huge ER hospitals as opposed to our little didley country ones.

I think someone needs to start a new thread because my dinosaur computer takes like 5 minutes to load this LONG thread. }( }( }(
