Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been doing a lot of ab work with the core workouts and other tapes of cathe's and I feel like my midsection is just getting bigger. Clothes feel a little tighter and I'm concerned. I feel like I am getting "thick" in the middle. Any suggestions???

I would never hold myself up as an expert, but I'm wondering if your form is off. I read somewhere that if you do alot of ab crunches without properly contracting your ab muscles you can, in fact, increase your middle. Has anyone else heard this?

My BIL goes to a really "posh" gym in a certain city. I wouldn't be surprised if the women have the word PRADA stamped all over their shoe laces.LOL. He was told by his trainer that if you have a lot of fat in your middle ,that doing ANY ab work will just make you look bigger in that area until you start losing the fat. I don't think I believe that.

Michelle- I have never heard of that before. I do have that book called The Complete Book of Abs for women. I wonder if that says anything. I will have to pull it out again and read it.
 
I have heard that doing abs incorrectly can make your middle bigger instead of smaller as well....you have to pull your abs in toward your spine when doing a crunch to avoid this I think....

I guess I better REALLY clean up my diet and lose some more fat then. I think I am doing the exercises correctly but then again its not like I have someone overseeing my form.
