Help! What to do with expensive junk food gifts?!

Ah! We have been given a lot of gifts this year like Godiva Chocolates or Harry and David cakes. I'm such a penny pincher that I just cannot throw it in the trash, but I can't eat it either. Any good ideas? Maybe we should have a party and put it all out for others.

I bring them to work. They descend like rabid dogs & it actually looks like I've done something nice for them. ;-)

Do you work outside the home? Take it to your office. That's what I do with all the cookies I bake.

oh, Maximus, again we're thinking alike.

Do you know anyone who lives in a nursing home? If so, it would make a nice treat for him or her (or even the other patients and staff).

That's a great idea. It reminded me--I also live next door to our fire department, so on occasion I bring leftover goodies to them.

Great idea Shelbygirl!

I usually take things like that to my office where right now most of them are eating like there is a food shortage so they can start their big diets on January 1 - Boy, that makes alot of sense:D

Ohhhhhhh, Godiva Chocolates! You could send them my way!!! I'd be happy to get rid of them for you. :)

I have found that a lot of that stuff can be frozen. I get it out for grandchildren or we have company to share.

I'll have to go to my Fire Dept and see if they want it and freeze a little bit, too. Maybe I'll freeze some in small portions. Hopefully our Fire Dept won't look at me like I'm crazy for giving it to them. I've never done anything like that before.
I bet it would be enjoyed in the teacher's lounge at my kids' school, too. Next year, I'll remember that and take stuff up there as soon as I get it.
