Help:weight training DVD for "seniors"?

I would like to help my mother-in law get started with some light weight training. She is 74 years old and in very good shape for her age. She has diabetes that she controls with her diet. She rides a bicycle around the neighborhood every day, and participates in "Senior" water aerobics at the YMCA.
Does anyone have suggestions for DVDs on beginning weight training aimed at seniors (not too strenuous, not too annoying or patronizing like some I've seen?)
Thanks! And Merry Christmas!

Laura,

I have at least four suggestions. Low Impact Step + Total Body Sculpting DVD . They only use two sets of weight. Can be any weight you like. It also has a step workout. The stability ball is also used and a mat for abs and stretches at the end. My husband swears by this one, he is 72 and also in darn good shape. You can grow into this one or use heavier weight when you want.

Basic Step + Body Fusion DVD: Again fantastic.

High Step Circuit DVD:
I love this one personally. High step and tubing are used.

You get a lot for your buck on Cathe's DVD's. So many different workouts in each of her DVD's. Can't go wrong at all.

Another one is The Firm: Hi-Def Sculpt. I just viewed it yesterday. They use two sets of weight too, like Cathe. I'm going to try this one on my hubby, cause I feel variety does a body good.

What a great gift for Christmas if you could outfit her into these workouts.

Thanks Janie! I forgot to mention that she has pretty bad arthritis and has had a knee replacement so I don't think she will do the step portion, but we can try. I also love The Firm. (I was a devotee until I discovered Cathe in January). Thank you for the help!

Thanks Kathryn. Great idea. I did that and found 2 videos that would be great for her (sit and be fit would probably be good also, but that woman makes me crazy! --that's what I was talking about when I mentioned "patronizing"!). Good advice guys, thanks!

Good luck with your mother. It sounds like she is very active and it is so wonderful that she is at a point where she is willing to add strength training. It sounds like she is already doing an awesome job keeping her cardio up. I just love working with seniors as they tend to be so committed to maintaining their health:D:D Another good place to try is your local library. That way you can see what videos they have and preview them before you invest in them. The selection at the library is often unfortunately dated, but at least it is free.

Good luck.
