HELP....WEDDING WEIGHT LOSS!

Stacy

Cathlete
Hi, I've got 12 weeks to lose some flab for a wedding I'm in. The dresses will be strapless and tight fitting in the waist...too tight for me if ya know what I mean!

Anyway, my predicament....I CAN'T do hardly any cardio b/c of a knee injury!! I'm 5'1" and would like to see a 10-15 lb drop on the scale (that would put me at my previous "skinny" weight where I was a few years ago, so I know it's not an unrealistic number). How do I lose body fat without doing more than 30 min of LOW impact cardio twice a week. Do I temporarily cut my cals VERY LOW or what???? I've done some calculations and my resting metabolic rate with "light to moderate" exercise for the formula's "activity factor" gives me a calorie count of about 1400 for my RMR.

I'm a pear shape with jiggly thighs, no boobs, a pouchy middle and flabby triceps. (Yeah, great visual, but I wanted to give you an idea of my body type...it sure ain't Cathe's!)

Thanks for any input anyone can provide. I'm getting desperate here!!!

There are obviously no miracle solutions and no guarantees of what will work for you but I DID manage to lose weight by watching what I ate and doing toning/light weight training...no cardio. The weight was slow to come off though, for me anyway. If you combine that with whatever cardio you CAN do, you would probably see results as well though who knows how much and how fast. When I watched what I ate I did no calorie counting at all. All I did was drastically cut down my fat intake. That was me though so you obviously don't have to do the same if you don't want to.

Hope this helped a little....I hope you see some positive results!!!

Have a great work out!

Would swimming be too hard for your knee injury? How about an exercise bike? My heart rate goes up just with arm exercises in kick boxing and isn't that what we're after, elevating the heart rate? Just some thoughts.

I didn't even think of that! Yes, kickboxing arm drills definately raise my heart rate too! Not too mention they help to tone the muscles as well....Great suggestion!
