Help! Need suggestions on what to do....

While my shoulder heals. I posted a little while ago that I hurt my shoulders. I went to the chiropractor and he said that my left clavicle is higher than my right. Because I didn't stop right away after the injury and kept on exercising (BIG MISTAKE!!) somehow my left clavicle is nudging my pec muscles and so every time I lift my arm it hurts. I am told to not lift till it heals completely. I can only do cardio. In the meantime, I've seen the chiropractor twice already. Each time after the adjustments, my chest and shoulder hurt alot!! I am feeling better already but it will take time for it to heal.
Anyway, due to a busy schedule, I am finding myself slipping in my fitness. I have been doing 5-6X weekly, now I find myself managing only maximum 3 times. I was gaining results since switching to doing Cathe's IS. I simply love it! I am very discouraged by this setback. So if anyone of you, THE educated crowd and friends, has any suggestions, tips, ideas on how to work around this injury that I am having, will be a huge and tremendous help. I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to some of you that posted when I asked about shoulder injury before. You are a bunch of concerned and wonderful people. I appreciate you!!

Hope your injury heals soon. At least you can still do cardio. I would start walking daily if I was you. You can keep in good shape by speed walking and you can loose weight that way also. You can do squats and lungs still, but don't hold weights while doing them. It is important to not have the all or nothing approach. Like thinking that you won't be getting results if you can't hold dumbells or workt he upper body - then you just end up skipping lots of workouts. Even though you can't work your upper body, you can still work your lower half and really fine tune and sculpt that part of your body. Good luck!

I think DebbieH has already given you great advice.

I wanted to ask you if you hae told the chiropractor that your chest & shoulder hurt after he adjusts you & if this is normal? I have heard that you should feel better, not worse after adjustments. I've never used one, I personally don't trust them but I know a lot of people swear by them. So, I'm just asking. I'm not trying to stir anything up.

Thanks for your suggestions. I am feeling better than when I first started. It is more like a tightness in that area now and taking off clothing hasn't been as painful as before. He said to expect some pain for a few days after each adjustment. A friend recommended this chiropractor because he had helped her with her pains and aches over the years. This man worked real hard at it. He literally worked on me for a full hour each time and I could see beads of sweat on his face, even though the room was cool. Also right now I can stretch my arm across my chest and it is not hurting. I still have to be careful not to pull anything with my left arm or sleep on my left side or lift my arm. x( Shoulder injury is no fun! Last year I had to deal with knee problems and after avoiding high impact exercises and wrapping it nightly with chinese medicine PLUS taking glucosamine with chondroitin, I can now say my right knee is healed. I take this supplement daily now. I learnt about this supplement from this forum. Thank you!
With respect,
Joan :)
