Help! need rotations for MIS, MIC & others

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to Cathe and this is my first posting so please feel free to point out any errors I may have made.

I have just recently purchased Cathe's tapes and need advice on how I should rotate these with my other tapes. I am 5 foot 4 and weigh 124 lbs. My goal is to loose 5 lbs and develop strength and muscle definition. Up until now I've been lifting a 12lb padded bodybar and dumbbells ranging from 3lbs to 10lbs. I purchased a barbell yesterday and cannot wait to try it.

Here are the tapes I currently have:-

Cathe Friedrich: MIS & MIC.

Karen Voight: Cardio Strength, Strong Smooth Moves, Streamline Fitness, Pure and Simple Stretch & BLT.

Kathy Smith: Functionally Fit Peak Fat Burning & Kick Boxing.

Donna Richardson: 4 Day Rotation.

I know this may all seem silly. I've reached a plateau and I'd hate to spend anymore time working out only to discover later that I could have been making much more progress. I will be moving back to Ireland in August, therefore it would seem pointless to invest in more videos as European vcr's use a different format. So I need to use what I have.

PS: Just wanted to comment on how impressed I am to see so many people trying to help each other reach their goals. Who said the World is never a nice place to live in.
 
Hi Sheila!

I may be wrong, but I THINK that Cathe tapes can be converted to European VCR's. Someone correct me if I am wrong. You might want to post a question to SNM on the "Ask Cathe" forum for an answer. Good Luck, I hope it works as you will want MORE Cathe tapes now that you have found her! (MIS & MIC were two of the tapes I started with and that was the beginning of no-return!;-))

Thank you so much for such a quick response. I've browzed the old topics and have noticed how helpful you always are.

I will check out the vcr issue further. Although I think I'll end up buying DVD's. I believe you can purchase some attachment tingy for $100 which enables you to use US dvd's on European DVD players ???? If there is anyone out there in the UK or Ireland with any knowledge on this matter please feel free to email me any info.

In the meantime I'm still trying to figure out a productive routine. Maybe now that I'll be using the heavier barbell instead of the bodybar I'll see a difference. I was just unsure whether MIS twice a week is enough weight training to produce muscle defintion or should I do a third strength workout with one of my other tapes that uses lighter weights. As for cardio I was thinking I would just keep alternating my tapes with walking ????????????

You're right though, I'm already dreaming of all the Cathe sets I hope to buy in the future.

Thanks, you are so sweet! BTW, WELCOME!!!! DVD is definitely the way to go. I know there are gals here from the UK that have both DVD's & VHS tapes, so it can be done! :7 As far as a rotation, just experiment and see what works and also what you LIKE to do. I used a split routine, meaning in the beginning of the week, I would do an upper body tape, then the next day or so, a lower body. I would then end the week with a FULL body tape. I was working the muscles two times a week and got good results. As far as your cardio, Cathe tapes & walking is a very good combo since you will get intense workouts and also lower level workouts. "What is SNM ?"

Ha! You're too funny! SNM stands for the Step'n'Motion crew. If you subject title your question to SNM, they will know the question is directed towards them and not specifically to Cathe. Just a thought as I have always had very quick responses this way. Or, you can direct your question to Chris/SNM as he is a big help too! Glad to have you as our newest member Sheila!

I'm not sure where you're located but if you're in NY enjoy today's wonderful sunshine after all that rain. I suppose the rain will help me re-adjust to the Irish climate. Oh No !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
