Help me out - my back kills

Boybert

Cathlete
So I did ME all the way through w/ Imax 2 on Thurs. I upped my weights to 12lbs, which is not much, but a jump from 10 for me. I'm not sure if it is my core that needs strengthening or I need to pay better attention to my form or my body wasn't ready for higher weights. I try so hard to keep perfect form like Cathe so I don't know. Should I give myself an extra day or two to rest? I was going to workout today or tomorrow but I don't want to cause more problems. Thanks for the help!

Debbie- If your back is reallying bothering you then I think you will need to rest. I know that no one wants to hear that since we are all such workout maniacs, but I had to do the same thing with my forearm killing me from the tiller. It is about 98% better so I am just going to do my workout today...and I am way behind...like 4 days with no workout other then coremax, but it is not worth serious injury to any of us to workout when we know we shouldn't.
When your back does start to feel better then trying practicing the plank. This one really does strengthen your back and your core. It is in the Core Max #1 workout. It really has helped me.

Take care! Rest!

Also, a back brace that you can pick up in a drugstore will help stabilize those back and core muscles while you are recuperating. You will be less likely to feel those twinges and less likely to pull something else. It should get better within a few days. If it doesn;t it is likely something more serious and then see a doctor.

I know it can be expensive...but have you considered getting a massage from a Massage therapist? The dentist I used to work for had so much neck, and back pain, and he started going to a therapist, and it worked wonders for him. Just a suggestion...I hope you feel better soon.
