Fellow Cathe-ites:
I have a question about squats. I understand that you are supposed to squeeze your butt as hard as you can when you lift up. But are you also supposed to be squeezing as you are lowering into the squat?
Right now, I make sure that as I go down, my knees don't shoot past my toes and that my butt is sticking out as far back as possible, all the while keeping my back straight (un-arched but not vertical) with my core engaged. I then squeeze my glutes on the way up. But should I be squeezing while I'm in the actual squat, like during those dreaded (but wonderful) low-ends?
I would love to hear your pointers
Thanks much!
Faiza
