Help me build my yoga collection

I want to add to my yoga collection and I'm not sure what to buy next. I'm considering Eoin Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness and Pure and Simple Yoga. I have his free downloads which I really like (there's just something about his voice that is very calming) and I think I would like his DVDs. I'm also thinking about Yoga Radiance. Does anyone have these? If so, what are you opinions? Currently I alternate between Shiva Rea's Yoga Shakti and Yoga Sanctuary. TIA

I don't do yoga nearly as often as I should but I'd like to suggest the Yoga Zone with Alan Finger. VERY calming and relaxing voice. He's the founder of Yoga Zone, but isn't on a lot of them. The two that I have are "Conditioning and Stress" and "Meditation Sessions." They may be a little to "beginner" for you; it sounds like you have much more expereince than me.

Hope this helps! :)

Hi, Shonda,

I'm just starting out yoga myself, so I'm afraid I can't recommend anything to you first hand, but here are some that were recommended to me that I'm planning to get (the Eoin ones and the Yoga Radiance that you mentioned are also often recommended):

Eoin Finn Power Yoga for Happiness
Eoin Finn Power Yoga vol 1
Yoga Radiance
Rainbeau Mars Yoga for Beauty : Dawn and Dusk
Rainbeau Mars Sacred Practices
MTV Fitness 4-Pack
Bryan Kest Power Yoga Series
Baron Baptiste’s Soul of Strength
David Swenson : Short Forms
Ravi & Ana Kundalini (there are 12 of these)
Crunch : The Perfect Yoga Workout
Total Yoga 4-pack

Hope that helps!

Hi -

I'm a huge fan of Shiva. I also have her Fluid Power which I love, but it is a little different than traditional yoga - thus the fluid part. It has the best forward bending/twisting segment and backbending vinyasa in it. REally gets into all of those nooks and crannies.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Eion. He's so cool. I have everything by him. I'd say PY4H is the best - especially Magically Hips premix.

I also love Rainbeau Mars and own everything by her except the pre-post natal ones. My favorite is The Yoga for Beauty Series - Dusk. Dawn is also a good one and Pure Tranquility is the best 30 minute restorative practice.

One last one that I like a lot is Altar of the Heart with Tilak Pyle - available at Fitness Organica.com

I have Yoga Radiance, but don't use it that often. I don't care for the music or the instructor's voice, however, I do like the Lunar Segment that is about 20-25 minutes long and makes for a great AM stretch on a rest day.

Good luck and let us know what you get. If you want to get into the Cathe of Power Yoga - might I suggest Mark Blanchard. His DVDs are pretty long and very difficult. Not a practice that you do on a rest day........more like a workout in itself! www.progressivepoweryoga.com

Shonda,

Thanks for starting this thread. I am trying to build my yoga and pilates collection too.

I like Yoga Zone. But now it seems a little easy for me. I like Original Total Yoga because I like the pace of flow movement and very good explanation of each posture.

Does anyone know what is difference between Original Total Yoga and Total Yoga-4 pack?

I read the post in Amazon.com that Andrienne Reed's Power Yoga for athlete is very good. Did any one here have that dvd? What is your feedback of that? I pre ordered 3 her new dvds. They will ship out in early Dec.

I have some Rodney Yee's dvds. His pace is kind of fast for me right now. I have to preview it a couple times then I can follow his instructions without looking at the screen.

I like a good flow of yoga. Can anyone recommend which ones are good in flow movement, while not too fast.

Thanks

I don't do a lot of yoga, but my absolute favorite is YogaX from the P90X collection. I purchased mine on eBay. Very fun and challenging....oh, and long, about 90 minutes.
