Help! I've plateaued!

SRP

Cathlete
Okay, Ladies - what do I do? Cathe's workouts are still good ones, but they are not the challenge they used to be, even just a few months ago. I'm not trying to brag and I hope no one's offended. But yesterday I was surprised to find that even the Gauntlet isn't as hard as it used to be.

I need some advice on how to shake things up. Goals are to still try and lose the saddlebags. Some of them are gone, but not all. Also, I'd like a little more definition in my legs - not necessarily more mass, but a little would be okay. Oh, and I'm working on my waist/abs, too.

But most of all, I want to have a kick-butt workout that really wipes me out!!!

I have an hour to an hour and a half a day during the week, and two to two and a half on weekends.

Right now, I use only Cathe tapes, because my others are too easy since I started doing Cathe. I sometimes make up my own weight routines, and I also try to run once a week - that's all I can handle, due to my knees.

Tapes I have are: Imax 1, 2 and 3; Low Max, Kick Max, KPC, Step Blast, PowerMax, Core Max, the Pyramids, Legs and Glutes, and Leaner Legs. I think that's it... And I have the new series pre-ordered.

Oh, and I know I can improve my diet some - my main goal is to stay away from my mother's kitchen. She loves to bake, and I love to eat what she bakes. I keep working on that, and backsliding...

Thanks for any fun and challenging suggestions you can give!

Hi Shannon! One w/o that took me to another level was doing IM3 blasts only. You could do IM2 blasts and IM3 blasts back to back. Also, there are some great mish moshes ala Aquajock that will really get you pumping. Check 'em out on the rotations board.

Hi, Debbie -
I've done the Imax 3 blasts and they're great! I can't do the Imax 2, since it's on VHS and it irritates the heck out of me to stop and fast forward. Bummer! I have done Imax 3 blasts and KM intensity drills before. That's pretty good!

Thanks for the reminder about Aquajock's mishmoshes. I've never actually tried any of them.

I've heard people have gotten some GREAT results doing the August rotation...I think you've got enough to substitute for the ones you don't have...As Emeril would say, "Kick It Up Another Notch!!!"!!!

I would echo looking into the different rotations here and elsewhere. I think video fitness has some....correct me if I'm wrong girls, but I know there are some great rotations out there to mix it up.

Wow,You have really accomplished a feat.
I look at Imax 3 and say maybe tomorrow.
You don't have the gym style.
I get the biggest burn from them.
Chest and triceps had me sore for 2 days. Felt like i had a boob job.
Doesn't the jumping on Imax 3 hurt your knees?
Honey you are good.
I would bet you look great, and think you are fat.
Why don't you try a weight segment really heavy theen head for a 30 min blast.

Hi, Anne -

Thanks! No, I don't have Gym Style - have been tempted, but I'm out of $$ right now. Oddly enough, the jumping on Imax 3 doesn't bother my knees unless they have already been bothered by something else, but coming off the step on those blasts does get to my feet sometimes, so I make sure I allow plenty of time before I do it again.

Well, I don't think I'm fat, but no, I don't look great - no boobs but wide hips. x( Not exactly a gorgeous figure, but I'm trying to make the best of it.

I've been trying to go as heavy as possible on weights, especially the legs, and I like that. I guess I need a weight vest - saw that posted elsewhere. But again... out of $$$! It's on my "want" list. Right now, I can get a 50-lb barbell over my head to do squats. I can add 10 lbs to that if I strap my ankle weights around my waist - now, that's a sight to see. I'm not interested in lifting a heavier barbell, because then my arms would get too big. So I'm trying for higher reps on the legs - which means a lot of the time I just make up my own weight routine instead of following Cathe's.
