Cathlete
I ordered a box of those Huggable Hangers by Joy Merengo on eBay - listing said it was her brand specifically. But, when I got them they DO NOT have her logo on them (i also have some orginal ones ordered thru HSN so I know what they look like).

I don't know what my 1st step should be & how to navigate the ebay web site very well. Has anyone had luck w/reporting this type of thing? I'm not sure what to do...thses hangers could suffice, but it's the principle of the thing!

Any suggestions are helpful. Thnks.

I would contact the Seller and let them know that you think was not an original, and the wrong item was sent to you. Try and work it out with the seller, either return the item and get everything refunded, or if you want to keep the item, try and get a credit.

If the seller is non-responsive, you can file an "item significantly not as described" report. You can report an item from 10 to 60 days after the purchase date.

An item is significantly not as described if the seller has misrepresented the item in a way that affects the value of the item.

Here is the link where you can report the problem http://pages.ebay.com/securitycenter/index.html, you will need to log in with your username and password. Or you can go on www.ebay.com, click on COMMUNITY, scroll down to SECURITY AND RESOLUTION CENTER, that will bring you to the same page.

Good luck!

First, review the item description completely. Some sellers will say that they'll offer a refund if the item is "listed wrong" and you have a valid complaint if the item is fake. Then, contact the seller and explain why you are not satisfied. In this situation, I'd ask for my shipping costs back as well because what they've done is fraud in my opinion - especially if it doesn't state in the description that it's not original - you know? Ultimately though, you may have to go through ebay's complaint system - file a complaint because of the situation but I can tell you, it rarely gets you anywhere, so your best bet is to try and work it out with the seller. What is their feedback score? If it's 100% or close to it, they'll probably work with you - they want to protect that score.

They may not be fakes.

I have some Joy Mangano Huggable hangers that I bought directly from HSN, and I just checked them: there is no logo on them (I bought them about a year ago, maybe the logo was added later? Maybe some have them and some don't? She tweaks her products a bit all the time, so maybe the ones from Ebay were purchased when she didn't have her logo on them?)

I was going to post this same thing. I remember reading somewhere else that the Huggable Hangers didn't always have a logo on them. They could just be older models - in which case, count your blessings. I've heard her newer hangers are really poor quality and break really easily!

Oh - I thought they all would have the logo. I emailed the seller w/my concern, but haven't heard back yet. Now I'll feel bad if they are indeed genuine. But, he had SOOOO many listed, should have taken that as a possible red flag?

Could be that he got a really good deal on the 'older' (better) versions of the hangers (the 'no-logo' version).

FYI:Mine has no logo, but there is a little stick-on tag saying "made in China" wrapped around the neck of most of them.

I agree with Kathryn. I know of lots of sellers who do do this as their 'career.' They go out looking for things to sell. I wouldn't automatically assume that someone who has mulitples of an item for sale is selling *phony* merchandise. :)
