Help!! I'm chicken to try MIC...

...I don't know why, but it scares me. I've only done BodyMax and all the P.S. series so far, and I've come to the conclusion that Cathe has way too much energy. I aspire to be like that...

I feel the need to ask if it's okay if I just do low impact (VERY LOW) instead of high impact during the 1st part, and then can I only have a 6" platform doing NO power moves with the step portion??? After being a Firmie for quite since April this year, I would consider myself intermediate, I also taught step aerobics myself two years ago. (But, I've been sedentary since April!)

Also, had anyone else have to work up to doing the entire video? I feel like a weakling compared do doing The Firm....

I think everybody here will agree--modify as necessary. Do what you can and gradually increase your intensity as your ability improves.

MIC is TOUGH! I have done all of Cathe's other tapes (except IMax) all the way through and have never even attempted to do MIC all the way through. I like to use it on a day when I am doing one of the shorter PS tapes. I will add on either the hi/lo or the step section.

You don't have to go all out and be at the level that Cathe is at. Do what YOU can do and then set goals and build on that.

I think it sounds like you are doing great! BodyMax and the PS series are pretty tough!

All I have to say is, "OOOOOO, MYYYYYY!!!!"
I am a sore puppy today. I did it this morning and I can't believe how tough it is. I did IM a couple of days ago, and I thought that was tough...I was wrong. It probably didn't help that I did PS/Legs yesterday (DUH). I had to modify during the High impact, but I managed to push my self through those "knee up runs". It was killer! Thanks Alot & Good Luck.

Hi Myra! It's me, Carol from the Firmlist! :eek:) Did you make all the way through MIC??? That is one amazingly hard workout!! I sometimes do just the hi/lo, but have made it all the way through (barely!).

I AMAZINGLY DID!!!

The Firm must have built up my cardio/endurance for the past 6 months. I also felt like a million bucks afterwards!!! I cheated a bit on some of the high impact and modified things, but it was a struggle. I just wanted to keep going!! I would say it was definetly anaerobic instead of aerobic!! I was thinking about splitting it up myself, but I really DETEST hi impact. I'd rather be kickboxing or stepping. But I don't want to overdo the stepping. Been there, done that, it's not easy to get my knee from stopping to hurt...

That's GREAT Myra!!

I am always AMAZED at how much improvement I see in all my workouts when I do extra strength training. The spring and the BOUNCE I have in the hi/lo segment of MIC has doubled! I LOVE the feeling of power that the FIRM and Cathe's MIS and Pure Strength workouts have given me!

MIC

MIC is really tough!! What I usually do is do the first two sections of the hi/lo (the low and medium impact parts) then fast forward to the step section. That makes it do-able. Once or twice I did the whole tape but had to lower the step to 6 inches and even then I almost died!! (LOL) Anyway even though it's a toughie, it's one of my favorites.
