Help! Fashion advice!

Is it a faux pas to wear black to a wedding??? I have a wedding for one of DH's coworkers to go to tonight. It's at a resort and it's an evening wedding. Is wearing a black dress out of the question? I am so not up on my wedding etiquette. I really don't have much at all to wear except this little dressy black cocktail dress but I'll come up with something else if I have to. Just wondering what the cathletes think.

It's no longer a faux pas to wear black to a wedding, especially an evening one.
You might want to add some bright accessories, fun earrings, red shoes/purse, things like that.

I agree with Joan that if you dress it up with bright accessories you'll be fine. It would be worse to wear white.
