LAST EDITED ON Nov-30-02 AT 01:00AM (Est)[p]Help me PLEASE! I just got back from vacation! Even though I was able to exercise 4 of 7 days I ate way toooooo much!!!!!!!!!! I can feel I lost some muscle tone and feel real fat around the middle and butt/thighs :( I can even see it in my face and I hate it!!!!!!!!!

Wondering what you pros think will be the best to get me kicked back into action again? Should I do more cardio or wts? Or should I do total body like CTX plus wts?

Also, what should I eat? Should I cut my carbs way down, cut down the breads, etc. and focus on the good carbs????

All I know is I need a shock to my system to burn this fat and build back up the muscle tone/mass. I am thinking I need to focus almost equally on strengh training about 60% and about 40% intense cardio? I am thinking I need some serious circuits with high heart rate and then some heavy wt days? I think I am an endo/meso and tend to gain wt. in the belly/butt/thighs, have a small frame and a lot of fat in the middle at the current time :(

I am limited on time the next few weeks with the holidays and since I was gone from work for 1 wk, I'll be slammed when I return. I should have an average of 1 hr to 1.5 hrs to workout a day. I can also do a couple double duos where I can workout in the morning at home and then in the evening at the club.

I have almost all cathe tapes so can do anything. I love IMAX, Circuit Max, Power Max, Pure strength etc.!

Also, I saw some great results right before I left for vacation after a S&H rotation. I am so bummed as it seems I now have more fat on top of the muscle mass I gained after that rotation. Hopefully it won't take long to get it off.

I so desparately need your help!!!!!!!!! I just couldn't quit eating all that good southern cookin'! It didn't seem like I ate that much.... however my big ol' butt is tellin' me I did! I haven't even thought about getting on the scale. I know I will just cry and be depressed so I am forgoing it until a couple weeks from now.

Yours truly,
Desparate Thanksgiving Casualty

Hi Pammer,

This is just my opinion, but I think you are be being way too hard on yourself. Before you left on vacation you said you saw great results. Why then do you feel like you need to suddenly change something? Don't panic! Honestly, I find it very hard to believe that in one week (especially having worked out 4 of them) you've gained so much fat back that you see it in your face and butt. Even harder to understand is how you would lose that muscle tone in a week's time. Are you sure that it's not your mind playing tricks on you? I know that when I have seen good results and then have a minor lapse in working out I am CONVINCED that I can tell, but really it's not anywhere nearly as bad as I thought because I can feel so much better just a couple days after getting back into my routine.

Again, this is just my opinion. Just try not to get to down on yourself. If you enjoyed your holiday, then that's fantastic! It's not the worst thing in the world to have eaten too much turkey, WHEW I did the same thing. ;-) But I consistently worked out and I feel just great.

You are soooo sweet! Thanks for the motivation! Ya' know maybe you are right. My clothes still all fit the same.

I think that maybe I am also just retaining some water and that is why my face feels gross. I also ate so much salty foods down there! Maybe I just need a serious cardio/wt workout tomorrow to sweat it out and I will feel better?? Plus my grandma's house was old and dark. The mirrors made you look hideous!

I still have the muscle mass. It just seems as though I have more fat on top of my legs/butt. My hubby even commented that I need to "get serious" this week after all I ate. Like he is one to talk!!!! uuggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!

Do I dare get on the scale????? It could make my day or validate my thoughts!!!!!!!! Scary! hee hee

Maybe you are right! If I was having good results maybe I should just jump back in right where I left off!!!!!!

Thanks for cheering me up!!!!!!!!!! :-jumpy

If you're going to get slammed at work, you may want to do the CTX tapes, and something longer on your days off. Walk as much as you can other times - do the old park your car farther away and walk to the building type of thing, and run up and down stairs as much as you can.

Don't weigh yourself for at least a week, and try to be really careful about what you eat, but don't let yourself get hungry.

This is the time when they'll be bringing in goodies at work, so be careful with that. There is no law that says you have to eat stuff someone brings to work.

Just Do It! :)

Pam-
I totally agree with Lizzie on this one!! You just have some water weight gain from eating more salt than usual. How could you possibly have lost the muscle gains you made just a week ago? We all experience this from time to time. I'm also going through it now. Just do the following:

Go back to your normal way of eating and your normal way of exercising. Pick up where you left off a week ago with your rotation. Drink lots of water. Do not weigh yourself the first few days. Save that for later! And stop worrying so much! You'll be fine! :)

LAST EDITED ON Nov-30-02 AT 01:03PM (Est)[p]Whenever I eat "abnormal for me, normal for other people" for a few days, I swear all of a sudden I can feel my butt jumping up and down behind me when I walk. It is very discouraging. But, after a few days, it is gone, and maybe I did gain a lb. or two, but the majority of it is water. You will soon feel like you did before you left, and best of luck to you. By the way, how does your stomach feel?? Whenever I change my eating pattern, I am downright sick to my stomach for a few days. I went on a 3-day binge last weekend, and on Monday, yuck, I felt terrible!!!!

I would love it if you would post that S&H rotation you used. I have been doing it this week, and I did PH yesterday. I added alot of cardio, a CTX on every S&H day, and a couple of long cardios. I did a CTX with PH, too. Thanks!!!!!!
Lori S.

I saw your rotation posted, THANKS!!!!

You girls are ALWAYS right! I did Body max in it's entirety today and gave it 100%!!! I feel soooo much better. It kicked my butt and made me feel a good sore all over! I think I'm going to do IMAX or MIC tomorrow and then a tough step class at my gym on Monday night with some strength.

I also sweated a ton in my sleep lastnight and today. I think my body is starting to dump the extra water weight gain! I have been drinking a ton of water too!

I also found out that I was PMSing last week (my period came early and I didn't even know it until this morning.) So... that explains it too:) No wonder I couldn't control myself with my granny's chocolate covered peanut butter balls! I get the worse cravings during PMS! Funny I just thought last week it was because of all the good food and lack of control - hee hee!

You are so right in that it is "normal" eating for some. I can't believe how my family and 84 yr old grandma eat! And she is so thin! Maybe their bodies are just use to it??

Thanks again for listening and offering great advice. Sorry I freaked out on ya'! Last night I just felt like a Jello-jiggle commercial!
