hi! I am 42 years old and previously loved working out to your maximum intensity strength and walking. Last summer 2005 i was walking 4 to 8 miles 3 to 5 times weekly and doing your tape. In Sept '05 I hurt my back just by bending over. The ER doc said it was a pinched nerve, but the back specialist disagreed saying it was muscular. The MRI showed no disc involvement. In Jan. 2006, i finally started to walk again but ended up with a repeat back incident, again by bending over. After this episode and another trip to the back doc, i went to physical therapy for 5 weeks.
I was finally feeling stronger and started on nordic track for 20 minutes twice one week and the next week, believe it or not, i again had a repeat back injury. This time it was much milder and i was back at work (i am a pharmacist) on day 3 rather than totally out for 5 to 7 days.
My dilemma is this: I need help figuring out how to get back into exercising without doing too much, and to know what to do and when and for how long. (eg, when i finally started walking i walked for 1.6 miles on day 1, then 2.25 miles 3 days later. too much, too fast?)
