Ok I know.. this is probably not the most healthiest thing to do...but I sort of in a crunch here!! Me and my husband are getting away in a month and I would REALLY like to fit in a dress he loves. I homeschool my kiddos and have just forgotten about ME!! Anyways, I have put on about 15 pounds and really need to get them off! Please give me some guidence on proper diet ect.. to get this fat off fast. Thanks sooooo much Jennifer:7 :7 :7 :7

Check out Cathe's story from Behind the Scenes for the making of the Intensity Series. She talks about eating "cleanly" and reducing starchy carbs. I have found this way of eating has helped me a lot. I tend to up my protein and stick to mono- & polyunsaturated fats plus stay away from refined carbs. Additionally you might check out Bill Phillip's Body for Life book which he has a diet that people have had really good results with, plus a free day. Someone also posted about their visit with a nutritionist in the open discussion forum. Search for nutritionist or visit something like that. It was an interesting thread.

You could lop off an arm. Just kidding. I agree that the way to go is to drastically reduce starchy carbs and sugars. Stick to lean proteins like chicken and fish, lots of vegetables, and only a few high-quality starchy carbs. Also, water, water water! Good luck, adn who knows, you may just become addicted to this way of eating. Let us know your results! Lynda

Kristine has given you great advice. 10 lbs by the end of May isn't a horrible goal after all it is about 5 weeks but 15 is an unhealthy goal.

Start slowly--cut down on bread. Cut out as much fat as you can--no butter, no "real" cheese. If you like tuna, NO MAYO. Put tuna in a salad, use a fat-free or reduced fat ranch dressing. It's pretty good. Watch your sugar intake. Don't deprive yourself but limit yourself.

And water, lots & lots of water. Cut out diet soda.

Take time for yourself. Just like you make teaching your children a priority--set time in your school day when the children can work on their own for 45 min. to an hour, I have a friend that homeschools & that's what she does. Then tell the children any questions they have can wait until you are done exercising, they can skip the "problem" and go on to the next. Make sure they have enough work that if they get really stumped they can go to another subject. My friend has children from 2nd to 7th grade & this works for her. And the older one can help the younger sometimes.

Good luck & have fun on your get away.

Thanks for the advice

:7 I appreciate you guys taking the time to answer my post:) I do need to take time for myself!!! I have a 3yo that does not understand that it is hard to carry on a conversation when I am doing a Cathe tape... However, I will set up some "centers" for her to do while I exercise;-) Thanks again, Jennifer

I don't believe in cutting out any type of food. I believe in taking in fewer calories than your body expends for weight loss.

My suggestion to you is to eat small meals throughout the day, about 300 calories every 3 hours, 6X per day, making sure you eat some protein and carbs. That's about 1800 calories per day. Set an alarm to remind yourself. You'll be amazed how quickly 3 hours pass and great you feel when you don't overeat and give your body a steady stream of fuel.

Exercise 6 days per week or EVERY DAY, concentrating on strength workouts using lighter weights/combo movies like CircuitMax, BodyMax Classic FIRM tapes and one interval workout. Make one day a very easy day, but get your body moving.

I am following a similar plan and have lost about an inch around my waist in 2 weeks.

Thanks so much for the advice!! Congratulations on your weight loss!!! Can you post a sample of your eating and workout schedule?? Thanks Jennifer
